Awesome Tablet!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this tablet 1/31/2014 when it was on sale for $500 dollars. This tablet exceeded my expectations and continues to amaze me every hour. This tablet is super responsive and everything works like a dream. Purchasing this tablet was well worth the $500 dollars. It is worth more but I got a deal and I am ecstatic about my new Surface Pro 128GB tablet I got for only $500 dollars..

1/2 table + 1/2 PC = 1/2 functionality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was so excited for the Surface Pro. I had been wanting a tablet but also wanted something that let me use MS Office. When I opened the box I was amazed by the sleek and modern design. Turning it on I really liked the sharpness of the screen and how fast the system booted. After signing into my Microsoft account the first thing I did was load up MS Office. The programs launched promptly compared to my current laptop with Windows 8 installed. So far so good. But then I noticed that my hands were starting to hurt from punching away on the tiny touch keyboard. So I moved to the couch to try and get the tablet experience while watching TV. Sitting with the Surface Pro it felt bulky and I could not figure out the best way to hold it. Typing on the screen on landscape mode was difficult because it is so wide and the height of system when vertical makes it feel awkward to hold that way. I then tried to use the touch pad when sitting down with minimal success because it felt strange to have the kickstand out on my legs (really if I wanted to do this anyways why would I not just use a laptop). The tech specs and performance of the machine are great. But I could not figure out how I would functionally use the machine in my everyday life. So the next day I returned the Surface Pro and gave up on my MS Office dreams and bought an iPad. I'm now comfortably lounging and tableting.

Great Device
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Surface Pro 128 GB on the release Date (2/9/2013) I love that it runs full versions of programs Like Office 2013, also it makes a pretty good Navigation Device with Microsoft Streets and Trips with GPS Locator, that's if you don't mind giving up 1.8GB of your hard drive.

Great for what I need
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this in my classes for reading eTextbooks and for writing lesson plans and papers. I wish the Windows market was a little more advanced. I love everything else about this tablet. I especially love that I can take notes right on a Powerpoint and save them instead of having to find my notes and the Powerpoint. Everything is in one place! Sound quality isn't the best unless you use headphones.

Great tablet that does duel duty.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great duel duty tablet. Have installed every software I've thrown at it including Microsoft Excel and Word 95. I kid you not. Photoshop and media ripping and conversion is a breeze. Hdmi output to 42" LCD and have not turned on my 500 watt desktop since I bought this baby home.

Too Little, too late
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tablet represents the worst of both the Laptop and the Tablet world. Windows 8 feels like an OS with touch nailed on to the top of the UI. The battery life is less than most ultra books, and the weight is about the same as a Mac Book Air. (2 Lbs vs 2.38 Lbs). The cost is almost the same as well. I am not sure what MS was thinking when they released this. I am tablet developer and own both iPads and Android (Lenovo, Ainu, and Amazon) tablets. Both type of tablets have usable software available including productivity suites. And the software available for these devices are, for the most part, developed for touch interface. The tablet came with GBs of bloatware that took time to remove. This tablet will sell hundreds. But that's about all.

Great Tablet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like this product because unlike others it comes with a pen, a kickstand, and Microsoft Office which is ideal for a student. The battery life isn't short which is good for a tablet. Touch screen makes Windows 8 Pro all much better.

Student, not work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great for homework, taking quizzes, and facebooking. The internet kills when I try to run high CPU programs that require webcam usage. Although Skype is fine. Some of the apps that I feel should be free are paid apps (Pinterest). And Facebooks official app is not compatible with the version of Windows OS on this tablet, so it's easier just to use the internet to check facebook.

Laptop performance in a tablet form factor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Microsoft hit a home run with the Surface Pro. Paired with the Type Cover it performs well as either a Tablet or Ultrabook. The Surface is responsive and works well with MS Office applications. It has replaced my laptop on business trips.

Great while it worked
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really thought twice before writing this review. I really love the Surface pro and with all the bad press did not want to add any fuel. For some reason the on screen keyboard would not auto prompt when an input field was highlighted. I spoke to many different people( at surface support) and not one person could figure it out...couldn't even tell me anything more than I had already tried...including a fresh windows install. I know computers but I'm not that good or shouldn't be as good as Microsoft tech support.. Seemed like a lot of confusion or lack of caring. Anyway...now they tell me it will be about a week before getting it back. Why? Don't they send a replacement and refurb mine for a future replacement?...seems odd. Also its only 4 days old...shouldn't they send a new one?. Maybe I'm used to Apple. My apple devices, if defective, are replaced at an alarming rate.

Great Laptop Replacement
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Bought this to replace my iPad and laptop. Works as I expected for all my pc needs. -Microsoft Skydrive is great for Office documents. Cons: The app store known as Windows Market is a joke. Most of your favorite apps such as YouTube, Facebook, Google Maps, and Yelp are not available. They only have generic apps that are made by individual developers and are not made by the original company themselves. -The Windows live tile is also a disappointment since most of the non-microsoft branded apps lack the live tiling feature. Meaning, if its not Bing, or a app made by Microsoft, it wont display any live feeds, pictures, or videos. -Zooming in and out (by pinching of the fingers) or scrolling up or down (by swiping vertically) seems to not work properly on certain websites such as Yahoo at random times.

PC in a tablet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was on the fence on getting a tablet. I already own a Note2 smart phone so a larger version of my phone wasn't justifiable. Enter the Surface Pro I play full PC games with the aid of a XBOX controller and run Office etc with ease. Love the device.
