Great Tablet - Beautiful Screen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this on the pre-BF sale, saved $400. Get the pen when you make the purchase and save another $20 on the pen (which comes with 5 different tips, each a different "pencil softness" - see image). I have 1st generation Microsoft Surface pro (i5 G3); I was concerned about m3 processor, but it (with improved GPU) is much better than the original and the battery life is about 4x better (original ~2.5h, this ~10h). The keyboard is just ok, it is backlit, and a little wider key spacing than previous; the "grey felt" look is nice, but key travel still limited. The latest pen has greatly improved touch sensitivity it is "marvolous"... using pen as mouse on screen is sensational. BTW: I can't believe new MacBooks don't have a touch screen - the screen viewing angle on the is tablet are exceptional combined with the new pen - a new computing experience. m3 processor is plenty powerful for most activities; Using Chrome Browser, I could easily open 6-8 tabs without noticing any sluggishness, at the same time run iTunes in the background. All told it's a great combination, and it's 100% quiet - NO FAN - and little noticible heat. behind the open kickstand you can feel warmth, but nothing like computers with older generation i3,i5 & i7 CPUs. If your lucky enought to get one fro this price, try the new Microsoft "inking" app, which combined with MS-Note provive a powerful on-screen writing combination.

Great value on a premium tablet computer!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Microsoft Surface Pro has always been a premium-level computer since it was introduced. I have avoided buying one until now because of that fact - I am FAR more of a budget-minded user/shopper. I wanted to replace my somewhat-aging Asus T-100 that had started out with Windows 8 and I had upgraded to Windows 10 quite successfully. The T-100 was my everyday carry computer for the office, and I would use Windows 10 Mail and Calendar and the bundled Office 2013 everywhere - I would then Remote Desktop to my main computer to run everything else. I bought this Surface/Keyboard bundle on sale at my local Best Buy store when I saw the ad. I am NOT disappointed with my switch to the Surface Pro 4 - it is fast, it is compact, it has an awesome screen. I added a 128G micro-SD card to store my movies and downloads, and I bought the discounted-price-with-the-bundle stylus (though I am not sure I will use it that much). I really like the facial recognition feature instead of typing in a password. I have not found anyone else's face that will unlock the computer. The kickstand is a fantastic design element - I use it on desks, my lap, pretty much anywhere. The charger is small and I love the magnetic connection. Recharge times are very acceptable (a LOT faster than my T-100). I think that the keyboards for these are VERY overpriced, but EXTREMELY functional. The touchpad is probably the best I have ever used, and I really am comfortable with touchpads. Multi-touch and Windows 10 go together very well. Even though I got the entry-level M3 processor, the performance is very adequate for all of my office and general-use needs. The fact that there is no fan at all is a major plus for me.

Unbelieveable Value
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This bundle was purchased during the Black Friday Pre-sale for $599. Aside from the killer price, the Surface Pro 4 is an amazing tablet that really replaces your laptop. Even at the base spec, the Core-M model is more than capable of handling anything you throw at it. I think 4GB RAM is a tad low but then again would there ever be a time when you are graphic designing, watching a movie, live streaming on Facebook and surfing the web all at the same time? If you answer no like 99.99% of the population then the answer is no. What I'm trying to say is that this model SP4 is more than capable enough for anybody out there. The fit and finish is top notch and the Windows 10 experience is pleasant even without using it in tablet mode, which cannot be said about other Windows running tablets in the market. The bundled alcantara type cover feels luxurious. I was concerned about corners and contact points turning dark but has not done so even after daily use. I pair the SP4 with a mouse but the touchpad works very well ergonomically and is great to use when no mouse is handy.

Versatile and Fun!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was looking for a tablet to bridge phone and desktop usage and found the Surface Pro 4 to be the solution and much much more. As a tablet it is great. Large screen, crisp display, excellent wi-fi connectivity and fully featured. Coupled with the Surface Pen it is exceptionally versatile. This device also is fully functional as a laptop with enough power and features to function as a business laptop with Windows 10 included and ability to run Microsoft Office Suite applications. I will need to purchase the Surface Pro Dock in order to have the connectivity needed to make this fully functional but that is not a problem. The bundle I purchased had the included keyboard which is very functional as a magnetic add on. I would recommend the Surface Pro (various configurations available based on need) to anyone needing a fully functional laptop that can double as a top of the line tablet. Do remember to get the pen at time of purchase for a $20.00 discount and the ability to write notes inside of your applications which is a great feature and really cool whether for business, school or fun!

Great computer, just one downside.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this for 599 plus tax the week of Black Friday. I was a bit hesitant given the not so robust m3 processor that is in it, but for such a great price I decided to give it a chance. I've been using it for a solid week so far, and here are my pros and cons of this device. Pros- Screen Quality (Bright, goergous) Touchscreen (Accurate, responsive) Keyboard (Good key travel) Trackpad Portability Speed (M3 is faster than I thought) Fanless Design (Device is silent) Windows 10 Pro Cons- Light leak. (It has a couple different spots on the top of the screen that light leak is present on, mainly viewable on black screens. Not a huge deal, but if it were worse, maybe a problem) Summary: This is a great computer for 599+tax. Only issue I have had so far has been the light leak, which is really only noticable past 50 percent brightness, which I don't usually have it on. If anything changes I will update this review.

Great/versatile machine for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this on a bundle with keyboard cover for $600. Couldn't be happier, runs windows 10 and full office 2016 flawlessly. I didn't know what to expect with the speed... my wife uses it everyday for leisure and school, it is a top performer. We typically use it for office related tasks, annotating pdfs and internet browsing. Couldn't be happier. If I didn't already have a nice desktop, I would have bought one for myself too and purchased a dock. Also, it is so lightweight compared to other laptops which makes it very portable. My wife did have to learn a little when it goes into "tablet" mode, but that shouldn't be an obstacle for more experienced users.

I would recommend buying
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Question buying this model as the new was coming out soon. But then my computer died and i had to make a decision to this or a different computer. I have not regretted my purchase once. The only thing that annoys me is sometimes i shut the screen too quick and it freezes and had to read on line on how to hard stay it. This is not an issue the perks of it out way all else. Fast easy to learn. Good for all ages.

Works great for what it was designed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great for what it was designed. The screens beautiful it works fast enough and he gets the job done. It may not be the fastest computer in the world but I don't think it was designed for that, I think it would be great for a college student or for a home homemaker or someone that doesn't really need advanced programs that need a lot of ram. Would buy again

Great Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed something light weight for travel purposes. This unit is great. The entry level processor and SSD combination is plenty quick enough for routine tasks, and the keyboard in this package has an excellent feel. The biggest knock on the Surface Pro is that it is pricey and the keyboard is extra, but the Black Friday special makes this combo a good value.

Excellent all around PC
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had read reviews and seen in store but questioned Microsoft's claim that it could replace your tablet and laptop. I was particularly concerned that it would not work well as a LAP top. However after repeated use I am delighted. It is light, fast, battery life is decent, and the keyboard backlight is great. Highly recommended.

Very versatile tablet / PC
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A PC in tablet form....i like this so much more than an android / ipad because there are no website compatibility issues, i can do real work on this thing and interact with software in their native forms. If you are looking for a tablet to play angry birds or to occupy the little kiddies then this is not it. Using the surface pro for media is awesome like streaming movies; kindle reader is beautiful on it, and the pen for note taking or sketching is a pleseant experience. There is support for photshop that im going to be trying very soon as well. I have the intel M processor and it hasnt shown any lag or slow down. My only concern though is how would i recover the system if it suffered any of the typical Windows OS crashes?

Improvement from Surface Pro 3
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bigger screen, faster, and better keyboard than the Surface Pro 3, the 4 is a great update. Warning: the resolution on the 4 is really high, so certain applications that do not scale up, will look incredibly small, you would have to downsize the resolution for those particular instances.

Best deal ever!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this for $599.99 It was the pre Black Friday bundle sale. Includes the M3 processor which is great and doesn't matter with VM ware installed on machine. This will not slow up performance. It came with the keyboard and also a $20.00 off coupon to purchase the pen. Great product glad I choose this over the expensive MacBook.

Great for Note Taking
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great for taking notes! I use this almost every day to take notes during class or at seminars and with the use of the pen, it works very well. The only downside is the small amount of RAM and the m3 processor. They work well and aren't battery hungry like the more powerfull processors, however if you have a lot of applications pulled up,you can see a decrease in the devices overall speed. Another thing to note is that a Microsoft Pen is must for this device, so since it isn't included, go ahead and order one when you purchase.

Fantastic! Love this little guy!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Huge improvement over the Surface RT. The Surface Pro 4 is much faster and more responsive and less laggy. In comparing the RT, the Pro 4 offers more desktop features and it functions more like a true laptop. Although it runs an M3 chipset, I still think it runs very well, if not similar to the i3 chipset. The bonus Alcantra keyboard is a huge plus. Definitely love the look and feel of this keyboard over the other surface keyboards. Bottom line, I'm very happy and I would highly recommend.

Great choice for a tablet/laptop hybrid
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used this MS surface tablet for about a month now. Compared to a regular laptop, this is considerably more portable - which greatly increases it usability. The touchscreen is extremely responsive and does not get dirty easily. The device is blazing fast for almost all my needs - which include browsing, creating documents, basic programming, and the occasional browser-based video game. I would recommend purchasing the add-on keyboard cover. Overall, a great purchase!

Solidly built, attractive tablet with some flaws
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Surface Pro 4 tablet has a solid, well built feel but, it also feels heavy. It has a nice, sharp looking display which could be a little more sensitive to touch. Performance with the m3 processor, though acceptable, is marred by occasional lagging in response. The rear camera is very good, videos look sharp and clear even in relatively low light conditions. The design of the support is simple and straightforward but offers limited choices and makes the lap use somewhat uncomfortable. The included, backlit keyboard is light and works well and the way it snaps firmly in place, through magnetic attachment to the tablet, is impressive.
