So far it has been absolutely amazing, quick to respond, and extremely versatile. I am so in love with it, this will be my go to in laptop for a long time. I love that you can mix and match the colors of the keyboard & screen itself. I love that it stays cool and and keep it on my lap because the keyboard does not heat up. It does an amazing job at not getting hot in general. Microsoft has got my attention!

My old Laptop was falling apart on me so I needed a new computer. Especially since school was starting. It’s a great laptop/tablet. I mainly use it for school stuff or watching Netflix. I bought it when Best Buy was doing the “Black Friday in July” sale. The price was worth it. Sometimes their is a small delay but it goes back to being normal after second. I would recommend this to any student or someone who just needs a laptop/tablet to browse the internet or binge watch shows on Netflix and Hulu. Overall, I’m happy with my purchase!

As you can see that my Microsoft Surface Pro 6 is updating again this is the third update for this month. This laptop updates at least two or three times a month.
At first for four months my Surface Pro 6 was fantastic. Microsoft Word had no problems. Then something happened in mid stride and I think it was either a change in the Microsoft team or a change in the management because Microsoft Word was giving me problems. Being a student at the University I would make notes for my anthropology course inserting pictures and typing definitions. Microsoft Word could not handle the information, and would start to glitch. Currently that is happening today especially after Microsoft Word updated and changed its programming. When I use Microsoft Word the Surface Pro 6 starts to flash. When I am using some other program, it does flash. Because this laptop is low memory, I put everything on OneDrive concerning only School. Since I am earning my bachelor's degree there are a lot of class information that I put on OneDrive and I'm running out of space. Microsoft OneDrive will grant me extra memory but a user has pay, that is too expensive as compared to Google Drive so instead I am now using Google Drive for my files as I have to keep my memory low so that the Surface Pro 6 does not glitch.
Currently, because I am using a Microsoft computer every time I start my computer Microsoft tries to force me to use Edge. Microsoft edge is not as good as Chrome. Yet, every time I turn on the computer Edge comes what's up and asked me to default to Edge and that's annoying. It's not against the law to force someone to use their product if it's for free, but it does become annoying like a telemarketer.
Every time I turn on my computer to start assignments for school, Microsoft always updates Microsoft Surface Pro 6 and that becomes redundant and irritating.
I have used Gatewa, ComPac, and Asus laptops and I have never had any problems.
There are two students in my family and they are using HP's and they don't have the problems that I do; not even the constant updates.
I remember in 2003 when Microsoft Word used to be problem free and user friendly. Today, it's junk. They have this Microsoft hub that you can complain to but that doesn't help because they're making more updates and adding more bugs in their updates.
The only reason why I bought this computer with extended warranty, geek squad insurance, cover protector, touchpen and keyboard, which it does not come with, all for thousand dollars is that it could fit on a student desk and I could touch write taking notes on the monitor. But taking notes in class was problematic because he had to have good Wi-Fi and it was easier, and quick to write on a notebook with a regular pen and paper. However, now that we're learning virtually, this laptop serves me no purpose and I should have bought the HP.
Although you see satisfied customer review I am telling you that this laptop should be only for kids in elementary school and Junior High.
This laptop cannot compete with a university student.
I'll probably have to buy an external drive to help this computer keep up.
If you're serious student or for home use or business I would not purchase this laptop.
no matter how much you complain the Microsoft their customer service will always tell you sorry but that doesn't alleviate the problem unless they change it.
The reason why I am given this review is because I am angry for the price I paid in the quality of this product. To me Microsoft has gone downhill. In addition, remember that because you have lack of memory your Microsoft surface pro is attached to an external drive which is OneDrive. If you have a lot of files like me a student it starts to build up and you start to lose memory real quick so I have to use a USB drive with this laptop.

i5 Surface Pro - Best Purchase

By far one of the best purchases I've made. I have the i5 with 8gbs of ram. If you have been deciding whether to get a surface pro or one of the surface lines, The surface pro is a amazing. If you want the lad tub then get the surface laptop. If you're deciding to between the surface pro and a surface book, just decide what you will do with the key boards once you detach it. I say a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars. The reason why is because I use one drive 100 percent of the time so I have it syncing to my one drive thru auto save as soon as I finish typing. There is a slight lag from time to time but pretty much the whole time in use it runs flawlessly. I did buy a case that best buy offers, $99. I can slide my hand in it and securely hold the surface in my hand. The only downside to have in a case is that you cannot use the full tilt within the built in design.
I've only had one is you with the surface and it did not pick up the typing from my type cover key board once but I restarted it and it fixed it.

While I'm not wild about being a tablet owner, I must say I've been impressed with the functionality of the Surface Pro 6. It's been easy to use, very responsive, and quite powerful for what I do with it. For me, I generally only use it with the keyboard, as I find it to be a bit heavy for tablet use (I suppose I'll get used to its weight over time). I also opted to get the Surface Arc Mouse with this bundle. It has been very helpful - using this as a powerful and compact laptop. I haven't found a need for the Surface Pen, but as I get more accustomed to using the Surface as a tablet, I may get the pen in the future.

I really like this laptop. It’s great for on the go and school. It’s pretty light as well. I haven’t used my notebooks at all since I got this. If you get the full insurance on this from Best Buy, geek squad actually teaches you a few things too.

To use the Surface Pro 6 for business and school (teaching) it works very well. My only complaints was the storage size. I got a micro SD card and redirected my documents, Photos, downloads and Music to the SD card to save space. Also the lack of USB C and having to use an adapter is a hassle.

I had a family member graduate college with an Archaeology degree and she now has a job that involves a lot of field work - digging, traveling, getting dirty (she loves it) and she needed a computer of manageable size that was impact & weather resistant, ran full Windows for her reports and sized for total portability. Well, she found all that and more with the Microsoft Surface Pro 6 12.3" tablet - it has all she needs, it's super light and you can punch the screen without damaging it - it's bulletproof. Should get a few years and a lot of miles out of it.

Absolutely love this computer! It is perfect for my work. Very Small, light, but fast. I do recommend getting an external hard drive because the memory will fill up quickly and slow computer down. Other than that zero problems so far, Have had it for almost a month. Went from a Mac book to this. Great product for the price. Highly recommend.

I recently upgraded to the Surface Pro 6 and I love it! It's so fast and is so easy to use. I can take it anywhere and not have to worry about lugging around a heavy computer. The battery last so long and I never have to worry about it dying, also being able to use it with the keyboard or in tablet mode is awesome!

I already own a lap top, and was hesitant on this purchase as I feared there would be no real difference. That was a mistake. The two units are completely different, but the same. They both function well as portable devices however if i were to lug that lap top around all day, i would be a disaster, the Surface Pro however is perfect. Its small and powerful, and one of favorites things to do is is to remove the screen from the keyboard and boom! instant tablet...it's fast has tons of space and can handle multiple tasks at one time with no lag. I highly recommend.

I have a surface Pro 4 and when a family member wanted to get something between a phone and a desktop that was fast so this seemed the obvious solution. She did not want an ipad and really liked the size of the surface especially with the attached keyboard. It was ease to attach a mouse for a user who doesn't like the touch pad, while the touch screen gives what is best about phone searching. She has all the functionality of a desktop or laptop in a small package.

Flawless light and powerful. I have replaced my work laptop with his lightweight machine. All my office apps , google earth , Visio all work easily. Why spend 1500-2000 on a machine when the i5 is just as good. Who cares about hard drive while everything is in the cloud and the micro sd card as as a bonus. I’m on my 4 the edition. I have upgraded every year. Just to keep up with the Kate’s but you don’t have to. Just my preferences.

Light weight, easy to use, goes from laptop to tablet in a snap. I've only had this item short of a month but so far it is working great. The touch screen works great, picture quality is very nice. My kids are really enjoying the use of the pen to draw pictures.
I purchased this for home use as well as work (book keeping) and for occasional games and reading. It's working well for all of it.

Well designed, good keyboard touch as well as good touch screen, light and compact as well as having features of a larger laptop, excellent speed. On the one hand it's nice to have a machine that's compatible with most business software; on the other hand, I could do without Microsoft Edge desktop when using tablet format. Hats off to Microsoft for an outstanding machine.

Great computer overall. Extremely portable and powerful at the same time. It doesn't overheat or freeze at all. It's very responsive and snappy even after two years of use. I added a 256 gb micro sd to it yo expand the memory and it works just fine. Battery life is pretty decent too.

Image is just stunning, the sound is clear and loud, no distortion at all. The build quality is excellent, looks and feels like a premium product. Computer is very fast, battery lasts a whole day, and it rarely gets a bit warm, and it's completely silent as the Core i5 is fan-less.

I love the surface, I have a 4 and a 6 for my home use. Regular surf, applications (office), some design (java, .net) and even gaming.
My surface 4 was 'stolen' by the wife as a replacement for an iPad.
Design, performance, battery and weigh is amazing. Highly recommended.

I was gifted a surface pro 3 a few years ago and loved everything about it. This item was my upgrade. Performance and portability is wonderfully balanced. Smooth operation and decent battery life.
I put this device with my camera gear and have it on hand anytime I need it. I mostly use Lightroom and photoshop on this device. Boots fast and is easy to operate. Strong WiFi built in. Can easily pick up a weaker signal and use it. I don’t think I’m ever going to switch away from this sleek line of product for my photography needs.
