I was looking for a tablet and laptop in 1 and I came very close with this purchase. The surface has characteristics of both devices. It works wonderfully with all the apps I use and every program as well. There is only one downfall of this device. The battery life is not great. I understand that it is because of the amazing screen but that is the only negative aspect of this device.

Slim, light, and powerful; this is a fantastic device for highly mobile users.

Purchased for photography mainly. Handles editing programs no problem. Work with large batches of photos at a time and sometimes 4k video editing. Handles it no problem. Battery life is lacking but portable power banks solve that. Wish it had standard sd slot but micro sd adapters are easy fix. Very basic and straightforward which is what i wanted.

I use this everyday in my graphic design business. I have a desktop but i love to be able to work from my room or living room or on the go. I run photoshop, inkscape, and a number for other programs sometimes all at the same time and never has a problem. I really love that i can use it as a tablet for graphic designing or as a laptop when i'm conducting business.

The technology and quality of Surface Pro's are just a level above the competition. I initially purchased a HP 15" Touchscreen Laptop which seems very flimsy. The camera was only 720p vs the Surface Pro 1080. Also, the keyboard is a reflective silver on the HP, which made the lighted keyboard useless. I have Surface Pro 3 and 4. Now, I am happy to add the Surface Pro 7

Surface Pro 7 is amazing and so easy use. Great that its light and can travel anywhere.

Great computer for travel! It's great for using in any situation. I really like the ability to use it for my photography touch ups with the surface pen. It also comes in handy for office work at home. The battery life is really good, depending on how much you use it, it will last for a couple days without needing to be recharged.

Love how portable it is! I like the poppy red keyboard.

Using the Surface as a notetaking device has been a game changer. I download all my powerpoints to one note as a PDF and then I attend the lecture and take my notes on their and highlight as needed. This lets me type within the powerpoint but also write in parts i want to. I dont see many reviews as it pertains to students but I am currently a Grad student: Biomedical science and using this has been a gamechanger! Important note: I have been having few issues though. Sometimes the writing and touch screen doesnt register and i have to reset the surface. I had to do this 3x on October 10th, and I have had to do it other days as well. could be a software glitch. Ill be contacting microsoft/bestbuy to figure that out. also, The surface is not being used as a laptop device for me. I use my Desktop at home as my primary computer. I display my video lectures and texts on my dual monitor setup then use the surface almost exclusively for highlighting and taking notes on my powerpoint. Hope this helps

I bought this for my boyfriend and he loves it! He mainly uses it for school as he is in college. In fact, he prefers this one rather than the newest model that is being released in November 2019 because we were told that it has the USB. The newest model doesn't include the USB I believe. It's also very light-weight.

I needed the 2nd computer as my powerful desktop didn't want to travel. I found an excellent price for this at Best Buy and decided to order two...one for my bride! Although my desktop monitor is large, I have picked the Surface Pro as my go-to computer. I bought the accessory keyboard and love how everything just snaps together. Highly recommend Best Buy and the Surface Pro.

Very helpful to teach online and work. I can write on it with the surface pen.

And better that my laptop. Flexible - Use it with and without the keyboard No complaints - the Sales person was so helpful and pointed me the right direction - gave him my needs he point me right to the Surface. Took we awhile to make a decision because there we colors, pen and stuff like that that. And because I have been a lifelong Windows user - never had to read the manual!!!
