After a year I’ve decided to come back to give some feedback on my purchase. I took this laptop on deployment and used it as a light gaming/heavy movie watching laptop. I can say the resolution is very pleasing.. even though at home i have a gaming pc running 1440p at 144Hz. I enjoy the bright colors and nice accuracy of them as well, only downside here is the black tends to look washed out and dull. Otherwise it did everything i expected it to do, turn on, give me a few hours of movie time and provide support for light gaming. The battery life isn’t amazing.. i would only get 7-8 hours with battery optimization on the first bar, if i didn’t it would die so fast. Currently my fiancée now uses this laptop to teach her 1st grade class and she loves it. I have yet to deliver the pen to her but she says using it without the pen is still very accurate and easy. If you’re looking for a laptop/tablet that has the great build quality and reliability, then this is it. This is a solid laptop with a bit of a steep price, but you’re paying for what you get at the end of the day. So many people try to buy $300 laptops and expect it to handle everything you throw at it. As an IT on a sub i can say this product held up to the 8 months just fine and exceeded my expectations.

Got this because it was on sale and I needed a faster and lighter laptop. Plus, being able to write on PDFs with OneNote is very convenient. The boot speeds and loading are very fast because of its SSD. It's nice that you can add a microSDXC card to compensate for lack of storage, especially on a 128 GB model. No major complaints except about the Intel DPST (Display Power Saving Technology) which changes the screen's brightness based on what's on the screen. What that does to you is when you watch something in full screen in low-light settings, it keeps changing the brightness so it ruins the experience. You can disable it but you have to search online for it. What I personally did was, I downloaded the zip file in this reddit thread: https://amp.reddit.com/r/Surface/comments/asxyln/easily_disableenable_intel_display_power_saving/ and just extracted it, and opened the disable_dpst batch file as administrator and it did the job automatically. I know the more popular way is to change the registry value but I think this way is much easier and better. Other than this, another complaint is that you have to spend a lot on accessories to use this to its full potential (type cover, pen, mouse, the case). I would definitely recommend this but only on a sale since you would probably spend around the original price of this with the accessories you have to buy.

I have been using Surface tablet/computers for a while now. This one is as good as all the others. It is light and powerful. The flexible keyboard makes it easier to use then a laptop. Because it is actually a laptop it is more powerful than other tablets of the same size. Microsoft hit it out of the park with this one.

Works great. Going strong after three years of use

I purchased my wife a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 for Christmas of 2015, which she absolutely loved. It still works, but for some unknown reasons it suddenly stopped recognizing the keyboard covers. She needed a new one for school and after some research I grabbed the Surface Pro 7, and she loves this one even more than the first. Here's my review, which is comparison and contrast of the Surface Pro 4 & 7: Physical- Size and weight-wise they're identical, which is to be expected. CPU- The Pro 7's Intel Core i5 is four generations ahead of the Pro 4 and the newer proc makes a huge difference in performance. The 10th Gen I5 is quad-core CPU, which makes multitasking a breeze, and switching between apps nearly seamless. It also improves the streaming video performance significantly. RAM- For the average user the improvements provided by DDR4 won't be noticeable, but for the not so average user it means a good deal. The 8GB of memory means increased application performance, because the system is no longer sharing as much memory between the Windows 10OS and apps. Windows 10 needs roughly 4GB of memory by itself to run effectively. Having less than 4GB will make the system utilize more virtual memory (small amount of the SSD drive) for applications to use in place of system memory. This leads to slower, less satisfying application experiences. My wife is even able to play several of favorite DVD-ROM games on her Pro 7, that she normally plays on her desktop rig. 128GB SSD- The SSD drive is about 25-30% more performant than the SSD found in the Surface Pro 4. Although my budget didn't allow me to pop for the 1TB SSD model, it is good to see Microsoft not following the Apple model when it comes to onboard device storage. I enabled disk compression, but my wife doesn't store a lot of stuff on her tablet, because we have an 8TB NAS at home, plus OneDrive. Surface Pen- This was the biggie for her and myself. MS did an awesome job improving the experience of using the Surface pen. They made a 4x increase in the number of pressure points on the Pro 7 versus the Pro 4. She likes to make notes on the pages of her digital textbooks and print them out for later review. The best part was being able to use the pen I bought with her Pro 4 on her Pro 7. Overall- She's happy so I'm happy. Its the best purchase I've made from Best Buy this year.

Amazing little machine. Powerful and compact. I use this for work and it is almost like having a portable office. Wi-fi connects very quickly and holds onto the signal unlike some other laptops that I’ve used. I am so impressed that I’ve recommended these to my peers that are looking to be in the go and stay productive

One of my favorite purchases! Purchased to use for college classes. Love the versatility of using as a tablet or a laptop. The touch screen is great! Lightweight and easy to travel with. Saved me lots of ink and paper because I was able to take notes directly on the PowerPoints and Word docs easily. No printing necessary.

I'm happy with my laptop even though the first time I bought it, I had to exchange it for another one because it had a manufacturing flaw with the battery. It would consume the battery too fast and overheat. Hopefully now my laptop works well and it's really helpful with the tasks i perform daily. I like the fact that is lighter and faster

The Surface Pro 7 has met all my expectations for how I use it. I was concerned it might be too large for my use as my primary tablet but it has worked out well. It's speedy and the virtual keyboard has alleviated the need for a physical keyboard. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a laptop alternative.

This is my first tablet of sorts. Only been a few weeks, but I love it, especially for the price. Light but sturdy, and operational within an hour of opening. Lots of great functionality baked in. Already brought it on a couple road trips. The detachable keyboard is a breeze to use and disconnect when I just want to watch movies.

I've bought a few laptops and 2 in 1 products over the years but none were so easy to use as this. I'll definitely be keeping this in circulation until it dies on me! The processor speed is great, the graphics are great and the availability of accessories for it are seemingly unlimited.

Just got the Surface Pro 7 today and it pleased me. Great performance(Make sure to update your Window to latest version) Fast charging Excellent audio( To me it’s even better than iPad pro) My only problem is that the device got super hot ( around 85 C degrees) during the update but it’s fixed after the update.

Everything you need in a laptop, with a beautiful and sensitive display, extreme portability, useful, top-notch built quality, and versatile, but the only 2 bad things about the surface is, just like every other surface product: It's overpriced and it lacks power; in general, specially graphical power. If you want that, you need to spend even more money.

Excellent portable computer to take on business travel that doesn’t break your back to carry. Can do most tasks and light gaming if needed, great do do school assignments when a desktop is not available. If you’re looking for something very easy to take with you anywhere it’s a great choice.

College students that want the precision and power of a Mac but don't want to get locked into Apple's realm, the Surface Pro line of laptops fit the bill. Sure, they are pricier than other Windows laptops, but the size, weight, and pen usage of the device is worth the extra money, and if you can get one on sale, all the better.

Best tablet/laptop with detachable keyboard. I wasnt crazy about it at first. But now that I been using it on a daily basis its great. Fits in my bag easily and lightweight caompared to other small laptops. I like it because of the diversity of being a touch screen if necessary or a keyboar. The color is asweome .
