Just got this laptop like three weeks ago, so far I love it. At first, I was bummed that the port on the side was upgraded to the USB-C, because I didn’t have a way to connect to my monitor anymore. (My old surface pro had the mini display port) But, I ended up investing in the Surface Dock 2 and now I can use two monitors, and my ring light! :) The picture and battery on this thing are amazing!

Bought this for my wife's birthday Feb 2020. Starting in late 2021, it started crashing. Now as of Jan 2022 it will now boot up all. Is in a loop screen reads "something went wrong" is in blue screen mode. Talked to person who is an IT expert ondicates it is either bad driver or harddrive. Tried resetting 2 times back to factory, still will mot boot up. Paid a lot of money for less than 2 years. I had picked up one dor myself but haven't opened and will eeturn as cannot take a chance on having yhe same issue with mine.

    Blue Screen of Death

Really wanted to like this Surface Pro 7 - it has everything on it that I’m looking for - but I got the blue screen of death and device restarted almost immediately upon starting up the device. That happened another 8-9 times within 12 hours of owning this. Will be exchanging for another in hopes it was just a defective item. Wish me luck

So first the bad, although not anything major. The battery doesn’t last as long as I’d like. But I must admit I don’t use the battery saver and have my screen brightness higher than middle. If you adjust the power settings, you’d get more time. I have it set to never off and high performance. I would recommend this to anyone who has to still hate a regular USB port as the higher model, the X, doesn’t have it. If I didn’t need the USB, I’d probably have gotten that one. It has less bezel and newer design. But that said, I’m very happy with my Surface Pro 7. The best thing is the looks, all black and light and sleek. It’s the lightest laptop tablet you can get. The only thing that might compare is the new iPad Pro when it finally gets a trackpad added in May 2020. I use windows so I had to get a Surface. It’s runs fast and smooth and I’ve had no issues. Highly recommended.

Pro: - detachable keyboard is backlit making it easy to read in low light areas. - the USB-C port makes connecting this to an external monitor a breeze. - light enough that I can easily hold it vertically when reading PDFs or other documents. - i7, RAM, and SSD make for a very snappy experience - displays well in sunlight, compared to other laptops I have had - fan of magneticly connecting power adapter Con - expensive (I bought it on sale) - only 1 Type-A USB, which means you cannot use a USB mouse and USB drive at the same time Random Thought: - I probably could have gone with the i5 model

I've owned several surfaces but this is by far the best. The thin and light aspect makes it a dream for traveling with and no compromise on speed and performance. The display is top notch. I feel that the type cover strikes the perfect balance between portability and usability. My only complaint might be the battery life. It doesn't achieve the indicated life. In my experience it lasts more like 6 hours on a charge.

First surface, and not my last

This is the first surface I have ever gotten, I kept talking myself out of spending this much money. But I finally just pulled the trigger and I love this thing. It will not be the last one I own that is for sure. I love the fact that I can use it as a tablet or computer and it is fully functional either way. It's way more portable than my old laptop, and with the type cover it just keeps it feeling like I could use it anywhere. Battery life could use some improvement but there are probably some adjustments I could make on my end to improve that too. There are so many apps and with the surface pen and ability to write on the screen I love this thing. Totally worth it. If you are on the fence between this and a traditional tablet... get the surface.

I bought this thinking it was a laptop. I was bummed when it arrived. But I have been using it and wow this thing really has impressed me. I thought it might not be able to handle some of the tasks that I do like big excel spreadsheets and multiple software running at the same time but it hasnt missed a beat. And the compact design makes it convenient to handle.

Smooth and fast. That’s all I can really say about this iteration of the Surface Pro. It is easy to use, easy to get started and fun. The casing is durable and the stand is surprisingly rigid and strong as well. Magnets are strong and make attaching outboard items (pens, keyboards and power supplies) a snap (literally because of the snapping sound the magnets make when engaged). As far as performance goes, it has handled every program I have thrown at it and gobbled them up with room to spare. Running 3 different art programs while looking up reference pictures on google or bing and playing music and it won’t even hesitate. Highly impressed with the graphics capabilities and the pen and screen combo makes drawing a breeze. Anyone who doesn’t think this is an artistic machine is dead wrong. All in all, I am THRILLED with my purchase and would highly recommend.

I recently purchased this product mainly for school. I’ve been looking for a 2-in-1 laptop for detailed editing in Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and After Effects. I originally use Apple products and wanted to switch over to compare them. Microsoft is very user friendly and I love it. The design seems sturdy, very sleek and compact enough to carry around without the screen being too tiny compared to an 11” screen. I enjoy the versatility of the product and I use it as a laptop and tablet equally. The few downsides are that the screen has to stay propped up on the back stand, unlike a regular laptop where it can bend and stay a certain angle. So it’s best to use it on a flat surface. Also, it can get a little hot while charging, especially in a case. But the charging time isn’t that long. I’ve also found that it runs slow sometimes when using high capacity programs like Adobe, possibly due to the processor capacity. And the screen sometimes flickers, not sure why. Overall I enjoy the product and think it performs well for everyday tasks (emails, online work, web searching, etc.)

Great laptop but a little pricey which is why I gave it 4 stars. I would recommend this for the speed and how light it is. I would not recommend it if you are on edge because of cost. You can get more for your money by getting something different for the cost.

I bought this laptop for my son entering into college of 2021. It's really a great computer for tough assignments & other features. Heavy gaming is a no but he likes the features it provide for the computer to run smoothly and Adobe runs great here.

So I've been struggling to find a good tablet when working on the go for about a year now. Back in August of 2019, I made the decision to switch to a Notebook 9 Pro. Unfortunately, due to the build of a 2 in 1 laptop, it stopped working well after less than a year of having it. So I sucked it up and bought the Surface Pro 7. I should've bought this thing at the start! It's better than the Pro X given that it has a USB port as well as a lightning port AND an aux port. It has a lot of similarities to the iPad Pro in terms of a tablet, but it's MUCH more functional because it has the interface of a regular computer, so I'm not stuck with something that works like an oversized iPhone. The processor and memory are excellent given the size; it works even faster than my last computer. I'd try not to use it as your main computer of you're into art, programming, editing, etc.; the surface can handle a lot, but for the sake of longevity it's good to have a home setup so you don't overwhelm it. My only qualms are that the pen charges magnetically on the side, which is fine, but it tends to fall off if you're not careful, and the bezel of the screen is a bit thick, but it doesn't really hinder anything. All in all, I'm in love with it. It's perfect for taking work on the go, and it has all the features of a Windows computer with the tablet functionality of an iPad Pro.

I own a surface pro 3 and I have been extremely satisfied with the performance. However I need it to update to a new laptop I consider many other options but I could not escape the truth of this surface pro being one of the top notch laptops I've owned. Therefore opted for the surface pro 7 and I'm extremely satisfied. The laptop is exactly what I need for my business slim easy to carry and not too bulky. the face recognition security feature is probably by far one of the best I've ever experienced. It is extremely fast to open. I highly recommend to anybody that wants to purchase this laptop.

This is my second Surface. I dropped the last one and shattered the screen after about 4 years. To be honest I mostly use it to read books and surf the web but I bought a higher-end configuration to have the flexibility to do database and spreadsheet work if I want to. This is perfect for the occasional freelance job or doing a Lynda.com training class. If this were going to be my primary work machine I would probably graduate into the Book line. A few years I bought one that was not quite so tricked out for my mother. She LOVES it.

I bought this to help me with my ecomm business. I do a lot on my phone that I was hoping to do on this hybrid laptop/notebook product. Not having a sturdy keyboard to pick it up like a normal laptop and the fact that my Samsung S9 takes better photos and there are many apps missing from the Microsoft store that I use regularly and don't want to fuss with the desktop version which means logging in or looking up passwords, has made me think I'll pass it along to one of my college kids and get an iPad and desktop instead.
