Bought this for school, was hesitant bc I’ve always been a Mac person but I actually use this way more than I expected & have hardly touched my Mac since. I love the notes/writing feature on the touch screen.

I am disappointed in this product and I find that it is not as user friendly as other computers are laptops. One thing that I find particularly of interest is how it is, which I do not know that the keyboard just, it's changed from the normal size, are on the tablet to a shrunken, down size something about the size that I would use on my cell phone. There's no indication of why I did that. I have no indication of how to switch it back to its standard size that frustrates me very much and has along with other details, better not user friendly. This made me totally dissatisfied. Another thing that disappoints me is Microsoft's effort to save money by not putting a charger and a charge court with this unit. That's a cop-out to me. Add to any other user. I feel with the amount of money that they receive for this product. They could allow the inexpensive charger to be provided with the product that in itself tells me that Microsoft is not very interested in it's customers, but more so in the money it gets from them.

Just what I needed for mobile productivity!

I live in a mixed world, where my mobile devices are Android (phone, watch, and tablet) and primarily use Windows PCs for everything else. I have been familiar with Microsoft Surface products for a while now, with having a Surface Book detachable laptop for 5 years, but when detached, it can still be a little too big for portability and practical tablet use. With my higher end Android tablet (with almost daily use for the past 6 years) starting to literally fall apart at the seams (the screen adhesive is coming loose and starting to squeeze out!?!), I had decided it was time to look for a replacement. While there are newer versions of the brand of my tablet out there, I also was thinking about the available versatility I really needed. There are so many things I do and apps I use where the Android versions have some limitations, so I really started thinking how much a Windows-based tablet would ease about 70% of what I use a tablet for. The new Microsoft Surface Pro - Copilot+ PC - 12" Touch-Screen not only fits my tablet needs but also gives a nice little screen size boost (up from 10.5"). This Surface Pro is nice and thin, almost as thin as the tablet it is replacing, and has a nice weight to it. There are two USB-C ports, which can be used to connect to a monitor, directly if it happens to have USB-C DisplayPort and a supporting cable, or by using an HDMI and/or DisplayPort adapter. And of course, after all these years, the Surface Pro still has its signature built-in, fully adjustable kick stand. The Snapdragon X Plus 8-Core processor is more than capable of carrying out most tasks, especially with the 16GB DDR5 memory. And it has a Qualcomm Adreno GPU. For storage, my version has a built-in 512GB flash storage, which is a great amount, and more than some laptops come with, but no microSD slot for anything additional. And as with most mobile devices lately, it comes with a USB-C to C cable, but no charger. It can take up to a 45W charger but can use nothing less than 37W. Luckily, we already had several 45W chargers for phones and Chromebooks. The Ocean color is nice, just a slight blueish hue to it by itself, but definitely more noticeable when next to my silver Surface Book. There are two cameras, a front facing (2.1MP @16:9 or 1.6 MP @ 4:3) and rear facing (10.5MP @ 4:3 or 9.3MP @16:9). These are a about the only things I had an issue with using, where it could not take pictures using the Camera app, just displaying an error. Capturing Video was fine, but not pictures. I was able to finally get them working by turning on the "Allow multiple apps to use camera at the same time" in the Advanced Settings for each camera. But these settings will only allow for even lower resolutions for the rear camera in the Camera App. Eventually, things seem to be working fine after turning off that setting and a restart or two. But I am still seeing some occasional issues where either camera may not work right away when starting the Camera app. The only other complaints I had were software/app related, where some of the video streaming apps I normally download to watch movies during plane trips don't have the ability to download. While being a tablet is pretty good, the portable productivity increases even more when paired with the Surface Pro 12" Keyboard with Slim pen. Just connect it with the magnetic connector, then it becomes a little more of a laptop, but not a comfortable one (at least for me). The one design issue I have is with the built-in kick stand. The edges are so thin and almost pointy, which makes it fairly uncomfortable to me when sitting on my legs for extended periods of time, unless I am wearing fairly thick pants. The Slim Pen is a nice touch, with different writing/drawing to text/objects convertibility. It will even turn a drawn smiley into a smiley emoji. The Surface has a location on the top-back to store the pen via a decently strong magnet, where it also wirelessly charges it. Then when done using everything, the keyboard closes over (and helps protect) the screen and stays closed via magnets. It does give a little more bulk to it as the keyboard is almost as thick as the Surface itself, but not too bad. From pretty much right from the start, I was able to continuously use it in almost all normal situations for me. For using it for Microsoft Teams calls at work, to watching videos while traveling on a plane, to using it for running tracking web application I designed. Then being able to use it for running all the Office/Microsoft 365 applications I use, it is just much easier than on my old Android tablet. While it does have Microsoft Copilot built in (which does seem much better than the predecessor, Cortana, which I never would use), I'm still trying to get used to using it. Even with all the regular use (2-3 hours a day, and then the extra use during my trip), I am getting around 2-3 days of battery, which isn't too bad. I have it set to turn off the display after 5 minutes and go to sleep after 30 minutes. And it does seem to keep itself from getting too hot (mainly a little warmer just above and right of center when using in landscape (with from camera at the top, but not scorching), but I really didn't get to try any extreme processing, such as any video rendering. But there are no fans, so it does stay quiet when using. While there are plenty of smaller, lesser expensive (mostly Android) tablet choice out there, this "supercharged" Windows PC tablet can be the productivity enhancer (and only tablet) you need!

It’s a very fast computer. The reason I only gave it three stars is that I was told my monitor could be plugged into it, which is not the case. That was disappointing. I also didn’t realize it did not come with a plug to charge it. It only came with the cord. I am also having a difficult time Getting my wireless mouse to work.
