I have gone through dozens of laptops, tablets, and desktops to end here!

If you seek portability and ease of use with a lightweight device and add-on keyboard, great. If you seek power, quick file transfers, or long battery life, it is not for you. You will never be far from power if you are doing real work with the Surface - because going on battery will not give you much device life.

Really makes a great first impression. It's a weird version of Windows that isn't compatible with any games. It also doesn't have access to Android apps. For this reason I didn't feel it took proper advantage of the tablet form factor. I planned to use it as a workstation that I could play games on and am returning it because for $1000+ I would hope it could run *something* cool for when I want to unwind. This would probably make a perfect computer for someone who wants a premium product and doesn't care about gaming or doing crazy intensive tasks.
