ARM processor doesn't play well with printers

I owned a Surface Pro 4 for 9 years and while I had some issues with it from time to time, not being a tech-oriented person, as I have my Best Buy membership, I had Geek Squad assistance when necessary - so it all worked out well. When I was shopping for a replacement, I was never advised that the newest Surface Pro's ARM processor causes a major issue when it comes to compatibility with other devices (in my case, printers - and not just mine, as I discovered upon deep research). I bought a Canon PIXMA TS-6420a printer/scanner and, to make a weeks-long story short, nothing that anyone could do will make it scan - and only by the sheer luck of getting someone at Canon's support who persisted and came up with a workaround am I able to print. After numerous Geek Squad sessions, two wasted trips to see them in person, untold days of research, help from a tech expert in my family, and so much frustration that no one - neither Microsoft nor Best Buy - advises customers of this compatibility issue, I called Microsoft Surface support, only to be told the same thing that store Geek Squad staff said.. "Get a different laptop!" Even Microsoft can't guarantee that any particular printer will be compatible with this device. So unless you are really comfortable messing around with your laptop's tech and/or don't need to connect your laptop to any other devices, my advice is to purchase something else with an Intel processor. Yes, this is a nice laptop otherwise, but I've been to you-know-where and back and still can't scan - so I have only half of the functionality of my printer/scanner. At this point, I'm so discouraged and disappointed with the lack of advice I received when shopping online, with the conflicting information I did receive post-purchase, and with Microsoft's refusal to forewarn the public and/or find a way to fix this issue that I no longer trust anything I read or hear with regard to tech and don't even have the energy to look for something else.

Got me thru my last year in design school, got recommended by 2 people and I am glad I bought it, even though I should’ve bought a gaming computer, it lasted longer than other computers

I love my new device!!. It's fast, it's so pretty in the blue. I named it BlueBayou. Beautiful clear picture/display when watching movies and videos. The sound is AMAZING! The bluetooth keyboard is great as well! Very satisfied with my purchase overall.

After researching options, I purchased this. Love the native Windows interface and it's speed and utility. My area of discontent is that Windows Subsystem for Android does not work; my understanding is that it is no longer supported. Bad decision by Microsoft. Gating Android apps reduces the usefullness of the device.

Over all nice: The system is fast, and easy to use system. Extremely portable. My only ‘mild’ concern was the over price (price of computer + keyboard + pen)

I’ve used this for graduate school for about a month now. It works great and is very capable. Runs all of my statistical software with ease! I also love how I can detach the keyboard and use it as a tablet. It makes reading much more comfortable!

I like the speed and responsiveness of this new MS Surface Pro! I own 2 other MS Surfaces, including the early Microsoft Surface RT (which still works!). I purchased this Surface due to its larger memory and 512GB SSD because I needed more storage than my previous models. I've used a Macbook Air in the past and I will choose a Surface any day!

Best Buy's Price Matching Policy is Fraud.

Great computer, but Best Buy changed their price match policy post purchase, saying they won't match prices during the lead up to and after Black Friday. Changing their price matching policy on purchases made just before Black Friday is basically a scam. The price has since dropped over $200 since purchase under two weeks ago...and they won't match the price available from numerous other retailers. They lost my future business over this deceitful policy.
