Customers are saying

Customers appreciate the Surface Pro Type Cover's high-quality keyboard, ease of use, and lightweight design. Many also enjoy the available color options and the protection it offers the screen. However, some find the price to be a significant drawback, and a few have experienced connection issues. Other less frequent concerns include the lack of a number pad and the impact on battery life.

I love the red color of my keyboard. The keyboard is easy to attach to the Pro Surface and keyboard icons are easy to see. I liked being able to have choices on colors!

Before purchasing my Surface Pro 4 I had read that everyone recommended purchasing the keyboard with it. The keyboard is a great addition. I love the backlit keys, as well as the function it takes of protecting the screen when it's folded up and attached to the Surface.

Must buy for Surface 4 type cover

The surface pro 4 type cover very nice , which actually allows for multi-gesture inputs to be useful. Also included is a more island-style chicklet keyboard layout with more conventional travel. The type cover itself is more structurally sound in that when you type away there is no more bending and overall the cover feels more sturdy and durable. This is definitely a new and improved type cover.

the keyboard seems durable. it has lasted me a month so far and doesnt seem like it will break anytime soon. the trackpad is great, but sometimes the tapping doesnt register. it is also secure when attached to my surface. i dont think its worth $130 but whatever.

    It's OK, But Not Great

This is probably the best compromise between portable keyboard usability and minimal size/weight that is available for the Surface Pro 4. But it's not perfect. The key press feedback is excellent and the keys are well spaced correctly. However, there is some flexibility in the keyboard, which tilts up from the front edge to the back edge which is attached to the Pro 4. Consequently, the keyboard spans 10" which allows flexibility in the middle of the span. I have made a small gadget that I place under the middle of the keyboard when it's in use, and that pretty well resolves the issue. This small drawback may not bother anyone but me, but just so you know... I personally doubt that the fingerprint-reader version is worth the additional price, but your mileage may vary. Try the keyboard out at the store and find a small center brace solution if you find it necesary. -mike-

The best thing about this product is that it has a backlit keyboard. Don't buy the one with the fingerprint reader as the surface pro 4 has facial recognition. One con is that the keys spring back and are a little noisy, but not as clacking as a regular keyboard.

After trying both the Surface Pro 3 and Pro 4 Type Covers I can say that this is a definite improvement. The glass cover on the touchpad makes it so much nicer and the keys almost feel like typing on a traditional laptop keyboard. I would definitely recommend.

The keyboard connects perfectly with the tablet. I've had the keyboard and table for 8 months and I haven't had any issues with it. The base of the keyboard is soft, but the keys are hard like a regular keyboard and click when you type.

I decided to upgrade to the new type cover, and I'm so glad I did. It feels much more like a regular sized keyboard, and has new nice upgrades, specifically the mouse pad is soooo much better. The keys are more like keys and its so much easier to type on!

This has been a great companion to the Surface Pro 4. I especially love the finger print module so I don't have to keep entering my passcode/password. This is good for privacy especially in public places. It also makes typing on the Surface Pro very easy.

The new keyboard colors are beautiful. The teal (more of a peacock green) is a deep elegant color and caught my eye immediately. Back light on keyboard is great, and the angled position makes use comfortable, blurring the lines between tablet and laptop.

After reading several reviews, I make the switch to the updated keyboard for my Surface Pro 3. Although I liked the previous version, the new Surface Pro 4 keyboard is absolutely superior! MUCH better typing action as well as track pad. Highly recommend!

As first time user of tablet, my choice to have both traditional keyboard AND touch screen capability has been met with SP3 and this key board. No issues with usage. Highly recommend both as ideal working unit. I did not buy the rather expensive and bulky cover from BB but rather looked else where to find a less expensive and very good thin cover. Very happy with my choices.

Purchased with a Surface Pro 4. Was somewhat worried about how it would actually work for typing, but, it's great! As noted, small but mighty! Key touch is good! Plus, it's super compact with the Surface when you want it attached. Highly recommended!

It turns the Surface into a laptop with a mouse trackpad. I like the soft side - seems easy to grip and to dust off without a ton of static. It works when connected to the tablet, not Bluetooth like keyboards for the iPad, which you have to charge.

The type cover has been massively improved. The track pad is a huge upgrade compared to the one with Surface Pro 2. The feel and touch of it is fantastic. The keys are very spacious. It comes with backlit keys. I'm very satisfied with this product.
