My surface would not function properly without the keyboard. The functionality of the pen is pathetic so I find myself using the track pad more often than the pen for highlighting and underlining documents. This should be a part of the surface package as the surface pro does not function very well without it.

I did not expect to like the type cover for the surface. However it was easy to adjust to and the slight bounce is actually good. I tend to be a heavy handed when I type. I actually like the cover better than the surface.

Whether you have the Surface 3 or 4, you'll enjoy the feel of this keyboard and trackpad. I feel it's a significant improvement over the previous model. If money is a consideration, then this device is pricey but worth it.

the keyboard is a must have part for you to get the most out of the surface pro 4. its not necessary to use all the time, but definitely comes in handy. maybe with the next surface microsoft will include the keyboard.

So far the key board has been fine. In fact no problems at all. Light weight and durable. All of the tablets should have a card reader but since they don't the least they could have done is put one on the key board.

I love this keyboard compared to the previous SP keyboards. The keys are a little bit lifted up, so it feels more like a regular keyboard now. The back light on the keyboard is also very nice! Overall, great product!

I purchased this keyboard knowing I would want more than just a touch keyboard. I need to have a more tactile feel when typing. It's taken me a week to get as quick as I am with my old keyboard, but it was worth it.

This is what makes a Surface worth owning. We have one in black and one in dark blue. They're durable and responsive. This one says it's for Surface Pro 4 but is compatible with Surface Pro 3 in case you're worried.

The new surface Pro for keyboard is awesome… Very user-friendly and very easy to manipulate. Seems also like it's a lot more sturdy? Definitely no complaints here.

While this unit is good protection for the Surface 4 Pro screen, it still lacks total coverage for the back of the Surface. It functions well and the magnetic hookup works great. I did have to buy a small carry case for the Surface. This keyboard cover should come with the Surface. Surface would not be as useful without it.

This is my 2nd Surface keyboard. They may look thin and somewhat flimsy, but the first one stood up to some rough handling by my 2yo granddaughter and still works. Typical "small" laptop keyboard layout. Adequate for routine typing, but not ergonomic or suited for long periods of typing (good for us two finger typists, but the touch typist may not like it). Functions well as the surface Cover. I miss the pen holder my Pro3 keyboard came with (btw, the keyboards are interchangeable), so I made my own - playing card and superglue. The pen is held to the side by a fairly strong magnet, but it sticks out and is easy to knock off. Using it for this review. The mouse pad is OK - my personal preference is to use the pen as the pointer device.

The price is a bit of a problem because you can easily get a Bluetooth keyboard, but the one I had didn't work on it, so Bluetooth keyboard was out of the question. This thing makes using the surface a lot better.

Feels natural to touch, type, and like a high quality product. Much improved over the old SP3 keyboard. And since t's all compatible, am using this with my SP3.

If you have a Surface Pro 3 or 4, then you won't find a better keyboard. I used the older version (before the island spaced keys) and this one is a huge step up. It's worth upgrading if you haven't already.

I did not expect this keyboard to be as good as it is. I was very pleasantly surprised. The only downside is that the Surface should come with the keyboard rather than it needing to be bought separately.

This keyboard works quite well with the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and provides some protection for the screen. The keys are well spaced and it is easy to use for typing. The trackpad is just the right size.

I have to say that I am a tech enthusiast and buying the Surface 4 Pro is one of the best tech purchases I've made. The Surface Pro 4 is a great balance between PCs and tablets and largely because of the updated keyboard. The keys are very responsive and reminiscent of thin laptop style keyboards. It's lightweight, yet durable, and makes a great companion for the Surface. Another good note is that it is compatible with the Surface Pro 3 as well - Kudos Microsoft!

This item functions and fits perfectly with my surface pro 4. Im not too high maintenance on technological things so i found this one to be of decent price compared to the fancier ones.

The keyboard acts and sounds just like the advertisements on tv. Mouse pad sensitivity is excellent and the keys feel just like a normal keyboard for the size. Overall very pleased with the keyboard.

This keyboard is a must when buying a surface. Its a great keyboard as well. You can do some pretty cool things on the mouse track that you would not be able to do on other keyboards. Its a must buy.
