Works great with my Surface Pro 3. Attaches and detaches very easily. Windows detects automatically when it is attached or removed and switches automatically between tablet and pc modes.

This is a great cover and a great keyboard. It is easy to type on and really makes my pro 3 feel like a laptop. It's not bulky yet is not flimsy either.

    Essential add on

This is an essential purchase to go with the new Surface Pro 3 in order to have the experience of a laptop. Without one, it's just a tablet and not nearly as flexible in use. The size is both a negative and a positive. It makes for a very portable piece of hardware, but can be a little small for someone doing a lot of writing. For me, it strikes a perfect balance between the two. Small enough to make the Surface Pro 3 portable while maintaining the flexibility of using it both as a laptop or a tablet, and yet large enough to make typing e-mails (and reviews) a breeze.

I absolutely love this typecover. The magnets are strong and the keyboard feels and types just like a desktop keyboard. I teach online and spend a lot of time on it and have had no problems or concerns. A big bonus that it comes in purple. :-)

You don't have to always have it connected, and I (nor my wife)haven't used it as much as we originally expected, since we use as a tablet more. But having the backlit keys works great and smooth keys, make it good when you need the keyboard. Doesn't add bulk to the Surface either when connected/folded up.

    Great Keyboard for Surface

I love how the keyboard lights up and that it clicks straight to the Surface. My only complaint is that the oil from your fingers makes marks on the keyboard keys and the track pad, so you'll have to wipe it down more often than you normally would, which is why I would recommend a darker color keyboard.

    Still Better Options

I would barely give this product a recommendation, it has some nice features, but is still not as reliable as a trusty keyboard and mouse, which can be purchased for much cheaper. First it is a screen protector, that's nice, but I bought 3 XtremeGuard covers for $8... It has better ergonomics than previous generations, and the magnets holding the keyboard to the tablet hold quite well. But typing is accompanied by a hollow sound with each keystroke. This is the one weakness of the Surface Pro 3 products, if you want a solid screen protector, you really have no other options to protect from impact., But if you are looking at a way to productively type and access computer features, save your money (and grief) and get a bluetooth keyboard and mouse or wait until the docking station becomes available in August, and plug in your favorite keyboard and mouse.

The keyboard is easy to type on and the backlight makes it easy to use in darker surroundings. It isn't as easy to use as a full size normal keyboard, but I didn't expect it to be. It is a perfect fit for the Surface and I'm really enjoying it!

I purchased this type cover to use with my new Surface Pro 3. The type cover works great and paired with the Bluetooth on the Surface Pro automatically. It functions great and, for me, I can type on it with ease the same as some larger keyboards.

This a great keyboard for what it is for...

The Surface Pro 3 Type Cover is much maligned because of its type-ability of which I am typing this review on. The keyboard is to have a functional keyboard in a thin and lightweight form factor that allows the Surface Pro 3 to maintain an ultraportable weight. Is it the best keyboard in the world? No. Is it supposed to be? No. The ability to flip over the keyboard to back of the device shuts off the inputs of the keys so you can carry it in tablet form without having to disconnect it. It also makes a great cover, the additional magnetic bar allows you to achieve a wedge form for typing and the keyboard is great for what it needs to do. The addition of backlit keys is fantastic. Will this keyboard work for everyone? Maybe not because one of its strengths is a perceived weakness which is the thinness and lightness. Which some complain flexes when you type, however I see that an issue with the typist preference of pressure. It also lacks the weight and thickness that comes with housing a battery and the board of a laptop, but isn't that the reason it exists? Also kudos on Microsoft getting a color that besides black I like. The Best Buy Blue is a good rich color and who can go wrong with it? I give this is an excellent rating because its light, functional, adaptable, backlit, and the click as it connects is just epic. I recommend this accessory!

This is my first tablet that I need for graduate school. I was looking for a keyboard that wouldn't be so small it would be hard to type. This keyboard fits the bill. My only complaint is that the keyboard feels a little flimsy while typing. I do not think that it is flimsy it just feels that way

In my opinion this is almost an essential accessory for the Surface. It makes the perfect cover for the screen when its not being used, and the new dual magnet makes typing so much easier. My only wish is that the touchpad would be developed a little more. It still feels a little difficult to use.

Just have to bring keyboard close to Surface and it quickly snaps into place. Don't have to worry about alignment. I like the feel of the keys clicking. I have to get use to the spacing on the keys but much prefer it to touchscreen keyboard.

This is a must buy with the surface tablet that works perfectly. The extra magnet that keeps the surface screen from wiggling ( which differs from the pro 2 keyboard) is a great feature. The backlight is perfect, not to bright but not dim.

    great keyboard for SP3

The type cover is almost a necessary accessory for the SP3. The magnet is very strong and you only need to be in the general vicinity for it to click into place on the SP3. Given it's so thin, there is still enough travel on the downstroke to give you feedback for fast typing. It's not as good as a great quality desktop keyboard, but given the portability and the protection it offers the screen, it's great. I like that you don't have to make sure the bluetooth is always paired like you do for the ipad keyboards. Just attach it and it works. no muss no fuss.

It is great to have a keyboard to attach to the Surface Pro 3 to make it into more of a laptop computer. I like that it also serves as a cover for the laptop so the screen is protected if you do not have a sleeve or other type of cover.

This works exceptionally well with the Surface Pro 3. I like the backlit keyboard, and the tactile key feeling gives me just the right feedback for keystrokes. The keyboard also hinges to give you a slight angle, which I also really like.

Awesome keyboard, this is a must, but you can get by without it. I love the surface pro3 it's the best of both worlds and a true replacement to a laptop. The keyboard is back lit as well and feels awesome to the touch and very well made.

Love that the keys have a backlight so when working in a low light or no light area you are still able to carry on. I will say that the material that the cover is made of shows oil and or dirt very easily. Its a must to wash hands often when working with the cover as not to show signs of wear.
