Cost of repairing is almost as much as replacing so just get a new one when a shoulder button breaks or a thumb-stick eventually gets stuck in one position.

Even after knowing the issue, Microsoft went ahead and came out with the One S and no changes to controllers. They do function well and get the job done, tho I LOVE my Elite controller. Much better made
