I can still use the batteries in other power hungry devices with no problem after taking them out of the Xbox controller after it stops working. It's Microsoft'$ way of making you pay for their rechargeable battery back that is probably the same thing but with a little higher voltage cells.

I bought this to play games on my PC but the controller feels like an uncomfortable mess. It does work for pc but the analog sticks are unbearable to use. After 30 minutes of light gaming my thumbs started to hurt. Didn't like that these expensive controllers require batteries rather than being rechargeable. I'll stick to my PS3 off brand controller.
