The claims of a new textured grip is debatable. You can barely feel it. I mainly bought this for PC gaming because the Xbox one's menu is so slow it makes me not want to play the thing. This controller is virtually identical to the original. But whatever it will do. The PS4 controller is still the best controller around.

Buttons get spongy or stick down after a year of lite use. I am considering the $30 PowerA controllers due to this garbage not lasting. I still have 80s/90s game consoles with working controllers!

Lots of random disconnects. In the middle of a game and suddenly it will disconnect from the Xbox and the only way to fix it is to remove a battery and put it back in. Happens just enough to be annoying but not enough that I want to throw it against a wall.

Great game, overall. Looking forward to the first patch.

Today, one of the buttons suddenly stopped working and button presses stopped registering at all for this particular button. Unfortunately, Microsoft's Xbox accessories only have a 90 day warranty period from the date of purchase, I was pretty shocked to see such a small warranty period for an official Xbox controller. I figured I was okay because I bought the controller not TOO long ago. I looked up when I purchased the controller and counted the days... I bought this controller 101 days ago at the time of writing. Even if the controller was still under warranty, I would have to dock 2-3 stars from this product. I found the construction to be rather cheap, the A/B/X/Y buttons feel rather loose, the triggers feel flimsy, and the D-Pad is even worse than the Xbox 360 controller. The fact that the warranty is only 90 days is near criminal. And the fact that one of the buttons broke in a little over 3 months is just laughable. I know this is only the base version of the xbox controller, but it's still a $50 controller and should have a bit better quality control and a bit longer warranty period.

I play a lot of Madden, probably a couple hours a day on average, and since last September I've went through around 10 of these controllers, all brand new. The recurring issue is the left joystick! After a couple of weeks moving right doesn't work, there's something that breaks or gets loose and prevents my guy from running to the right. I've taken the controllers apart to try and fix it but zero luck. I feel like a total scumbag bringing them back every two weeks to get a new one but I have to if I want to play, and I'm afraid of this happening to an elite controller if I spend the almost 200 on it. Very much considering switching to a ps4 controller with an adapter or buying a ps4 pro and selling my Xbox. I can't believe that this is this much of a constant problem. If you do buy this controller make sure you get the warranty!!!

Purchased the xbox one tech controller at bestbuy & when I got home I synched the controller and started to use it when I pressed the home button it would not respond. You have to constantly push your finger down at least 8 or so times for it to even respond and the home tab open. Do not waste your money as I will be returning it today.

I got this on black Friday for $39.99 back button didn't work. Went to beat buy to exchange it , they gave me a little issue but then decided to do something about it. Mess up my discount instead of giving me another one so I pay actual price 58.99 and went home and the back button still dont work.. I'm taking it back. I'm done

After 2 months if owning the control I noticed the mic stopped working. I was still able to hear audio, however mics on either headset would not work. This is the second Xbox One controller to go out in the past 6 months so I highly recommend buying the warranty to protect yourself from their faulty products.

I got this controller and the r button in my left thumbstick broke in minutes after I found a game I like. Its made cheap and even if I avoid using r button on my second controller its still making a tapping noise. 0 out 5 stars. Its expensive. I need 2 more buttons.

So I bought this for my son for Christmas 2 days later exchanged it because right bumper stop working. Today March 1st the same thing different controller. I don't know if it's just this color but that's twice with same issue and I can't exchange it anymore because it's past 30 days
