No batteries required when you are connected with the micro USB. Warning: it will not work on all micro usb cables. The first one I connected did not work but that cable still works fine to charge my Kindle. I luckily had another micro usb cable and worked perfect.

Sleek and modern look with a bit of mystery. I love that you can see some of the inner workings of the controller. It comes in other colors too, but the white/gray would go with just about any decor/ vibe of your home/gaming area.
