I don’t know what it is about the controllers with the grip on the back but they seem to be much more durable for some reason.

The red one was on sale, so purhased it instead of the traditional black. The color is the only difference. My son likes it.

Also great feel with the textured grips and smooth joysticks! FYI is a little sleeker and feels smaller in your hand! Great investment and style!

It's smaller and the ridges on the underside help with the overall grip. It is, however, not as sturdy. I've used it on my time off from school and work for a month straight playing halo 5's multiplayer and by the end of the month the left joystick was jammed. I would turn on a menu and the control would toggle the menu until I moved the joystick.

The special edition was a surprise! The Bluetooth feature was just what he needed and can play on different devices.
