I owned a total of ONE 360 controller and it did fine. Im currently ordering my FORTH One controller. Stick failure and a broken trigger in the first two, the original black ones. I had higher hopes for this one but stick drift after only having it a couple of months. It's ridiculous there's no more quality in official Microsoft products than this. I'd shell out for the Elite controller and come out ahead on money but from what I gear they eventually break down as well.
I would recommend this to a friend Great if you find it on sale.

Great controller that isn’t the Elite

My elite broke and I didn’t want to buy another before the series 2 came out so I bought the Sport Red controller. The rubberized gripping feels great and works well. The build feels solid and doesn’t rattle when shaking it. The buttons feel crisp when pressing and the triggers feel responsive. The only reason I give it a 4 star is because the right thumb stick drifts slightly to the left but isn’t noticeable unless you have your dead zones all the way down (unfortunately I do). Very solid regular controller from Microsoft. My next favorite besides the Xbox elite controller.

That was damaged (I’m sure you guess how). I had the corded controller covered on the geek squad protection plan and used the gift card given for the coverage on these sweet white cordless controllers. Also, I did get the protection plan for these two controllers too. Well worth the cost.

The original controller lasted ~5 years before the sticks wore out and started floating/drifting, so hopefully this one will have the same life. It was a bit more than I would’ve liked to pay for a console that will be a generation behind in a few months, but it seems to be the going rate right now.
