If you're familiar with xbox controllers it's a straight replacement. I game nearly every day and it'll last for quite a while. My previous one still works after 2+ years, only the rubber on left thumb stick wore off. Bought this one so I didn't have to keep switching back and forth between xbox/pc.

That said I've had about 3 break on me so far in the past few years. I have a good feeling about this one it's got more of a grip than my previous one which leads me to believe they've upgraded a generation or so but I haven't researched that far. Good controller working great.
