As far as controllers go, this one is just another color. Functions the same. But does look really sharp.

My son and I have burned through standard Xbox controllers as the bumpers fall apart or the joystick starts drifting so we got new ones. He got an elite one which is top quality and I got this one. It is the same as the standard o e except the grip has a rubber like texture that I love. Feels better to me. On top of that we bought the Best Buy insurance so we don’t have to worry about faulty motor CrossFit products.

Bought for my son for Christmas. Recommend due to good gripping.

Solid remote control that I was able to quickly connect to my surface pro tablet. Plays very well on the Xbox one, and now I’m MVP in every game that I play. I have never once had a bad game with this remote... so far.

Microsoft controllers feel great in your hand and are easy to connect to both your Xbox console and PC.

The standard white XB1 controller is a good value. I go through about one controller a year with the thumbstick and bumpers breaking on me eventually. This controller has held up for about 8 months of moderate gaming so far.

These new generation of XBOX one controllers feel better than the first that came out. The white looks great as well.

Bluetooth and the ability to updated the controller software combined with better feel and grip makes this the best controller to date.

Console controllers have made great strides over the years in functionality, and I'm pleased to say the Xbox One S controller is the apex of that so far for Microsoft. Most notably, it has a headphone jack built into the bottom of the controller (so you won't need the chat adapter for that function anymore). Other than that, this is pretty much the same superb Xbox One controller you know. The analog sticks feel sturdy and have yet to fail on me during demanding first person shooter play (something that was a plague for me during the PS2 and original Xbox era). The buttons don't feel cheap and haven't stuck on me yet, which is also a good thing. However, I've found the D-pad has always left something to be desired on Xbox controllers–it's just not precise enough for arcade fighting games. So, I'd recommend an arcade stick over this controller if you plan on seriously playing any fighters. I've found the charging function and battery life with the play-n-charge kit inconsistent (although this could be due to me using a headset with the controller that drains it quicker). It sure would be nice if Microsoft would finally take a page from Sony and put internal batteries in these things...having to buy a separate battery and cord seems excessive given that it's the same price as Sony's standard Dual Shock 4. Still, the S controller is a respectable 1st-party peripheral and meets most of my needs nicely for the system.

Our son loves his new controller. Better grip and ease of using the controller is what he likes the best.
