Although I prefer some of the earlier gen controllers with the high gloss trim with different texture, this one works just as well.

Watch for D-pad wear and toggles that start to wander. It will take some time with heavy use but I have yet to find a better alternative.

It eats batteries a bit more than older models, but that should be a given. The feel of the buttons are smoother. The analog sticks look like they will have the same issues with drift and / or breakage but this is nothing new.

There is a certain lack of quality with Xbox controllers overall, it could have happened with any of them.
