I bought this because my PS4 controller over bluetooth had some issues with games that weren't on steam, or didn't support that layout. Examples were Sekiro, Rocket League, and Forza Horizon 4. Have no issues playing both on couch and at desk. Would recommend over just the bluetooth connection.
