One more gadget
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I didn't know if I really needed this gadget, but I went ahead and bought it anyways. Haven't figured it out yet because my Windows 8.1 computer is a piece of s.... Oh well, I own it now.

It's okay
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Synced with my surface easily and broadcasts relatively well. Some lag is noticable but hardly distracting if you turn off the original screen. That being said it will timeout on any other windows device I've tried and cannot sync. Two seperate tablets and a laptop. Only recommended if using Surface Pro 3/4/Book

Good for watching video
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for work. I use a second monitor and thought it would be a great way to get rid of that stupid chord/adapter mess the MS Surface FORCES you to use. Well, it was not to be, the resolution is not good enough and makes the font hard to read. There is also a very small lag in the mouse pointer that drives me nuts. Back to the chord and back to the store with this thing. It does seem to play Netflix and other videos pretty good with good resolution.

On the fence
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used to only a few times. Something I noticed is at times their is lag between your Surface Pro and the screen. Used it twice for a presentation at work. Worked like a charm the first time around but not the second. Biggest issue was its failure to connect. I reset everything involved and still couldn't get it to work. I see a lot of promise in this technology but it has some minor bugs to fix before it's perfect. For a reliable connection I would still do a hard wire configuration. Got room for a little error then the freedom of no wires is a big plus.

Great...When it Works
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Microsoft has the potential to have a great product here. Works well with multiple Surface Pro 3s in the office but doesn't work well with most anything else (at least consistently). The adapter itself is easy to setup and configure but trying to get a W8.1 laptop to see it and connect is a whole other bag of worms. Hate to say it but I wish it would work the same and as consistently as AirPlay does. I'm sure with firmware/software updates it will get better but for now it really isn't worth it for the price.

Go back to HDMI
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With very good reviews from customers . I decided to buy me one because it is on sale for 50% off . It very easy to set up and get it running ; It worked very good for first couple hour .After that it keep flicked and dropped ; so I had to unplug to reset , sometime is working and sometime is not , liked it has mind on it owned . It is more annoying to keep using it ; so I go back to HDMI.

works only okay
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this so I can use it with my surface pro 3. I was told that I couldn't use my surface pro with WiDi and that I had to use miracast which is what this device basically is. I was able to project my surface pro through it but it lagged quite a bit. I tried watching a movie and the devices were only about 8 to 10 feet from each other. The movie kept freezing and the image kept getting distorted. I got frustrated and decided to just unplug it. Besides this little device not working very well, I didn't like that you do not have another option for sound except through its own hdmi. I contacted Microsoft and they couldn't really tell me why out didn't work well and suggested I just plug my surface pro directly through an hdmi cable. That defeats my whole purpose of being wireless. In any case, this device didn't work for me and kept looking into other options. I eventually figured out that I can connect through Intel WiDi and that seems to work much better. I can't really recommend this little device to anyone since it didn't work for me.

Check compatibility first
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Seemed like a really good idea but could not get it to work. Turns out the equipment needs to be compatible with Miracast, which was not on the ad or specs. When I tried to communicate, the unit got very hot, so be careful you don't burn out your equipment.

Works as promised
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was easy to setup with various Windows 10 computers, but can be a little slow to connect initially. it also worked with Android devices using the Miracast app. Note: it does not work with IOS. I understood this prior to purchasing.

Great for mirroring your screen to monitor.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great, small, easy to use device that let's you mirror your screen from laptop to your monitor. Sadly only works with windows 8 or higher. Missing a BIG market by not being backwards compatible.

Okay, but short range.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works with my Windows 10 Desktop. No problem detecting the adapter, but often have to try twice to connect. At rangers greater than a few meters (yards) it often drops the signal. Had hopped to use it to connect my living room TV to the PC in the bedroom, but the range seems to great. Would probably be fine for it's intended purpose of short range, easy hookup. That said, the refresh rate was smooth even for video game watching (though not playing).

it's ok
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not a great connection, but does the job. freezes sometimes, but could be because of the internet connection. I use it with my surface pro to the tv; I definitely recommend hard wires.

Project to TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needing to share your screen is a norm during meetings, entertaining friends, or just wanted a bigger screen. I purchase the wireless adapter to project my screen to watch movies. There was a lot of lag time so it did not work out for me. I kept it with the hopes it can still be useful, however I found apps which project my screen onto my Google Chromecast device.

Another try
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second MS Wireless Video Adapter. The first worked 2-3 times and would no longer connect to my surface3. Tried reseting but it would sit with the 3 processing dots for a longe time until you remove the adapter and leave the USB connected then re-install the adapter to bring it to a ready state. From a ready state it still would not connect.

Good but no Chromecast
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The adapter is fine, though not as seamless to use as the Chromecast. Setup and connection is easy and the connection is stable. Do note, you may need to allow the adapter through your firewall on your computer. If you're having trouble google Microsoft Display Adapter firewall (INSERT FIREWALL BRAND HERE).

Works... distance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works well to get your surface or Windows PC to project on the TV. However, if you are more than 2 yards away from the adapter the picture becomes pixelated especially for video. It does what I want it to do, but disappointed to have my device so close to the TV it kinda defeats the purpose.

Worked good but not with Galaxy S5
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to use with my Samsung Galaxy S5 and unfortunately it doesn't work with that phone. It worked really good with my Asus windows tablet but that's not what it was purchased for, so it was returned. Yes I would recommend this to a friend, if that friend doesn't have a S5.

Not all i was hoping for.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I looked at reviews, all video review I saw mentioned the lag but that it was tolerable. I used it both with my Toshiba laptop and Surface Pro and it was to noticiable on both. The picture also dropped a few times, I decided to just go with a Chromecast.
