Works as it is supposed to however, make sure recipient has their own Microsoft account so that funds are directed to appropriate person. It could be confusing if multiple player profiles play on a single console.

I use point cards to avoid using my credit card on my xbox. Very simple to use.

This is an easy way to add money to your live account...but be warned you cannot use gift cards to buy 360 back compat games on xbox one for some reason. You have to put the money in your account and if you want to buy a 360 back compat game you have to do that thru your 360 and then it will be available to download on xbox one when you go back to the my games and apps.

This is a great idea to give to someone who has an xbox they can use it for xbox live, or to purchase a game. We gave it to our son who wanted to purchase a game that was only available online. it is nice to buy games online because you always have access to a digital copy.
