Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i know nothing about xbox controllers or console names! i thought this was a new controller for his current gen system but it turns out its not only for next gen but backwards compatible. thank god! only only downside was we also bought his a faceplate and gun shell buttons to customize this with but microsoft does not make for a friendly rehashing of their hardware, also not a bad thing when you really think about it.

It connects via USB, and instantly switches to wireless when you unplug it 2. Polling rate is only 250hz, which I'm disappointed by because they could've made it better 3. Joysticks are really hard to find that will connect 4. Mapping functionality is a little limited. They need to add half-tilt joystick button options, etc. More programmability would be nice.

The controller is slightly smaller than the previous gen which I am neutral on since my hands aren't huge. Rumble seems improved to me. I can feel the rumble change direction with context of situation in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. I had some disconnection issue with my laptop, but I think that's a software issue as it doesn't do that with my desktop. The windows dongle was used in both cases.

My only gripe is the buttons are loud when clicked. Some people hate not having rechargeable batteries but you can get a 24 pack of batteries cheaper and they’ll last you years depending how you play. By then your battery pack will have degraded and probably on it’s way to being replaced.
