I have been buying these controllers for years. They perform very well and feel great in your hands. The biggest problem is they get stick drift within months of heavy use. I buy 2 of these every year. Other than that its an awesome controller.

I was on the hook due to price but after purchasing I was surprised how much I enjoyed using this controller. I like the different opinions available to me. The controller itself is nice and comfortable. You have the option of changing the joysticks, triggers can be set to different sensitivity, paddles can be set for quick access during game play. You can also go into the controller settings for different joystick game play options. I don't see myself using a regular controller again. There's also a nice case with a dock to recharge your controller.

    One glaring issue

At first I really did love the feel of this controller. Add in the ability to customize your joysticks, dpads, and paddles really had me happy with the purchase. Unfortunately after only a couple months, my right bumper mysteriously stopped registering for certain presses and eventually just stopped working. After looking at forums and various reviews, I’ve noticed this is a common problem with the controller which makes me wonder if this means they released a faulty controller with a $200 price tag and didn’t care. At the end of the day, it is a very solid controller and when it worked, I loved the feel of it. Unfortunately that doesn’t justify a $200 dollar price tag when there is such a glaring issue that multiple people have dealt with. Microsoft, hopefully with the next elite controller set, this will not be an issue. If you don’t need your bumpers, this controller is perfect, but most games I play do so it’s a no go for me.

Great controller with precise handling and comfortable grip. I bought it to replace an older Elite controller, so I already had the compatible additional components. It was very easy to attach the additional peripherals from my older Elite controller since this is the same - just without the components included. My older controller lasted for about 3 years with heavy use, so I'm expecting this one to be pretty durable as well. Whether you need a regular, just sturdier Xbox controller of if you want to replace an older Elite controller, then this is just right. Plus, you have the option to buy the additional components/peripherals later.

I have been using this type if controller for about 8 years now. I really enjoy the weight and the button response. The customizable features are what makes it funnyo use whether its a FPS, RPG or racing. Having the buttons on the underside makes all the difference

I love this controller! The weight, the bulkiness, very durable, and yet comfortable. My main complaint is that its got a classic elite controller issue. The previous model always had problem with the bumper buttons and joysticks. This model currently has no problems with the joystick but instead the L Bumper. Elite controller buttons are always getting jammed or stuck

Never thought I would spend so much on a controller, but after seeing all the great reviews on it I decided to give it a try. Besides being lightweight and comfortable to hold, it comes with a case and charger (and btw the battery lasts a long time). On top of that you can customize the sticks, the d-pad, the resistance on the triggers, and program the back paddles. The great thing is it will hold a default mapping as well as three other mappings that you can set yourself and switch between with the push of a button. Didn't think I needed it, and probably don't, but I love having it.

The weight of the controller is perfect, and the black textured grips are a nice aspect of the controller. They charge fairly quickly as well, and the braided extra-long charging cables are of good quality. Overall, these are the best Xbox controllers I have ever experienced in all my years playing since the original rollout of the OG Xbox console back in 2001. Originally, I was a bit iffy about the price as I was purchasing two in total, but honestly it is proving to be a worthy investment overall. Very pleased with my purchase.

    The Honest Review

[Employee of bestbuy] I've had elite controllers since day 1 so I'll be very honest about the controller itself without being biased in any way. The controller is a great upgrade from the regular one but it does comes with its downsides. One being the build quality over time, the controller seems to deteriorate at a quick amount of speed after a lots of use. I've had many with stick drift out of the box more frequently compared to buying a normal controller, bumpers wear out and give way and buttons do as well. That's the bad but the good is ease of use, the button mapping with the pads and their feel of how nice and metal they sound when you click them. The way you can personalize the sticks heights, and dead zone, and the actual app used for it is very intuitive. Overall, it depends on you if you need to upgrade for whatever circumstances you're in but the price tag is very costly given how the issues i presented do seem to kind of not make it a somewhat justifiable purchase but I'll leave that up to y'all

*Will update this review at 6 months First impression is that nothing else compares. This is my first elite controller and after holding the original xbox controller, the difference is felt right away. I dont own an xbox, so i use this while playing on PC. With that being said, the ability to remap pretty much any button to any function you would normally use on keyboard on to the controller, is phenomenal from a quality of life perspective. Construction is sturdy, and the textured rubber grips that wrap around where you hold gives a next level of comfort. Being able to adjust the tension and force needed to move the joystick is a great feature. The soft-touch face is nice, but i can see this becoming a fingerprint magnet. Buttons are nice and tactile, and all the changeable parts are magnetic so you wont have to worry about snapping anything. A huge plus is the carrying case which doubles as a charging station via usb-c, and a holder for other accessories (the charging dock inside can also be used independently from the case). A few cons, though its a bit nit-picky are the length of the paddles. This isnt too big of a deal, but i had to readjust my grip and how i hold the controller to press the paddles on the back without my fingers interfering one another (i have medium-large hands). A USB dongle to connect the controller to pc is not included and would have to be ordered separately, which can be a con to some. The longevity of this controller is yet to be seen from personal experience, as i have read reviews of this controller being DOA, buttons not working after a few months, or the terrible stick drift. Honestly, i don't see myself buying another controller after this as this is truly the ultimate device for handheld/controller gaming. Is it worth the upgrade from an original controller? For my application, yes! Should you buy it? Depends on what you're looking to do with it.

Bought this to replace an older elite controller that was drifting. Unfortunately that is the life of the elite controllers, sooner or later they will start to drift. But I love them, no other better controller for me.

It is a very good controller I do like it the build quality is there the price is a little steep in my opinion when you compare it to something like the G7 game sir only because the software does not have as much customization as I would like truthfully but battery life lasts forever never have any problems with pairing it feels like a $200 controller but it's one of those where if this controller goes out I'll probably be buying a game sir

This is by far the best xbox controller. Best feel in the hands, love the paddles, long battery life, and charging case. Downside is that theyre known to have problems a year or so down the road. Not a problem with my Total Tech subscription. You get a free two year protection plan. So I’ll get a new one if this one if starts giving me problems. In the meantime, best controller by far I’ve played with.
