Best controller
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the best controllers Microsoft has made, once you play with an elite controller you'll never be able to switch back to a non elite controller!

Amazing Upgrade! ... if it works.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This controller is so close to perfect! The back buttons easy to use & not obtrusive, everything feels higher quality than the normal Xbox controller, but the stick drift is ridiculous!! Stick drift has become synonymous with the Elite controllers so I was hesitant to justify the price tag, but the Elite 2 seemed to be the most user-friendly option in the “pro-controller” market. I’ve seen people say they they’ve had theirs for 2+ years without drift issues so I was hopeful to say the least. First week was a dream come true! The added functionality from the back buttons made me realize I’ve been playing at a huge disadvantage for the last couple years. I don’t think I can ever go back to playing FPS games without back buttons, the idea seems so cumbersome now. Around my 2nd week of use I started to notice some slight drift on the left stick. It was barely noticeable & easily corrected so I didn’t think much of it. Fast forward 1 more week and I notice the same thing from my right stick. Barely noticeable, but enough to make me start regretting my purchase. I’ve barely had the Elite 2 controller for a full month & the drift is only getting worse. I love the back buttons SO MUCH that I really don’t want to put it down, but if the stick drift keeps getting progressively worse at this same rate than I will only get another 2-3 weeks of use out of it. This controller does everything right when it comes to offering a premium level “pro-controller” but if the stick drift turns it into a $200 paperweight after 2 months then it’s hardly a justifiable purchase. I’m hopeful Microsoft can turn this around, the biggest talking point of the Elite 2 to-this-day is the stick drift issues. If they can resolve this, then they will arguably have the best option on the market for a premium controller.

Great feel and features, but fragile
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want a controller that feels like something a pro gamer would use, this is it. Very comfortable, and has support for additional inputs and interchangeable joysticks and D-Pad. However, my LB button is already breaking within a year of use. It still responds, but I have to put additional effort into pressing it. Also, the clips/magnets on the back that hold the pedal buttons break easily. It’s great while it lasts, so hopefully Microsoft invests in sturdier materials. This is an expensive item for something that breaks down quickly.

Better than Series 1 in every way
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had the series 1 since it released years ago. For the price and time it felt like a good upgrade over standard controllers. I still have it but have since passed it down to my kids because the Series 2 is better. The build quality is better; the sticks are not as loose; the buttons are better and there are now 3 settings for the trigger pull. I appreciate the built in battery. The case also doubles as a charger so you can just set the remote in it and walk away. What I noticed immediately are less aggressive paddles compared to Series 1. The original paddles hung out too far for me and my fingers would bump them all the time. My only issue I have so far is connecting it via Bluetooth to my PC. I was able to finally get it linked, but it took too long and I have little faith regarding input lag. I have opted to use it wired to my PC.

Never in stock, experiences issues in 2-3 months.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When new, the controller works fantastically. Key phrase is WHEN NEW. This is the 3rd elite controller that I am now going to have to replace because of stick drift, sticky buttons, and the headphone jack not working. Each controller started showing these issues just a few months in. You're probably thinking "Okay no problem, I'll just pay for the Best Buy 2 year warranty, then I can get a new controller whenever I want". HAHA good luck EVER finding them in stock. THEY WON'T EVEN ORDER THEM FROM MICROSOFT FOR YOU. My controller has been a piece of garbage for a couple of months now, but can't get it replaced thanks to Best Buy's constant lack of inventory on them. I have the listing bookmarked and check daily to see if they have any in stock, and they never do. Overall I do NOT recommend this controller for any gamer. Only reason I gave two stars is the controller is very nice when its brand new out of the box. However, you will regret it when you pay this much money and are without a useable controller for months at a time, after only using the thing for a couple of months.

Great Xbox Elite Controller Replacement
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this controller to replace a previous Elite Controller that succumbed to severe stick drift and a battery that wouldn’t hold a charge. I wasn’t looking forward to paying full price for an Elite controller, so was very glad to find this one. It doesn’t come with all the bells and whistles of my previous controller but i didnt really need them since those same accessories and case from my previous controller all wotk with this one. I also wasn’t sure if i liked the white on black color scheme but it really works and this controller feels just as sold as my old one. Very pleased with this purchase.

Best decision
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this remote ! The main reason to buy it was because I play CoD, and sadly my thumb gets tired for running, with this remote that pain is not a problem anymore. I was able to modify the bottoms wherever I needed to be.

Great weighted option.

It's fine.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's fine. Bought as a replacement for another Elite controller, which was also a replacement for an Elite controller. The previous two, the rubberized grips separated and the controller shell underneath broke apart. Both lasted about a year. If this one comes apart, I'll look at non-Microsoft brands.

Fantastic controller with one down side
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the elite v1 for a little over a year before moving to the v2. Overall, the v2 is a much higher quality controller than the v1 with only one downside when compared to the v1. The v1 used a membrane style for its button mechanisms in both the joysticks and the paddles, however the v2 uses more of a clicky button style mechanism. In the v1 the signal pulses consistently, however, in the v2, sometimes the signal stops pulsing which requires me to then reset the button by pressing it again, this behavior never happened to me when i uses the v1. That said, the membrane style in the v1 controller wore out very quickly. The v2 mechanism still feels brand new even though I’ve been playing with it daily since it was released. Finally, if i had to choose between the v1 and v2, given my post above i would still pick the v2 because of the build quality and durability.

DIY Project
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Girl, I love the controller but it has the same unfortunate problem in the last Elite Controller. I will give the first released Elite Controller props as the pealing didn’t start until 4 years into having it with HEAVY use. (Black ops 3 and 4 bb). On the second series, the rubber started to peel in a much shorter time than the first series. I’d say within 6 months to a year. Something new for me was the RB button would sometimes not read my presses during in game or a single press in a game menu would skip over multiple options versus just moving over one. It’s sad because I know these things can be fixed by the good ol’ DIY and I don’t mind taking these things apart, but at this point, they should just have parts readily available for the user to replace. Make the controller customizable from the jump to lessen the pain of having to find reliable parts or sending the controller back to probably just get a refurbished one back. Idk… Besides that, it’s really pretty and I do love the updated options that come on this model. I do see the love and hope to see these issues fixed in the future.
