Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the controller's exceptional overall performance, impressive battery life, and extensive customization options. Users also frequently praise the device's comfortable grip, balanced weight, and high-quality tactile feel. However, some customers have expressed concerns regarding the durability of the buttons and bumpers, as well as the early onset of stick drift. Despite these technical frustrations and the premium price point, many still consider it a top-tier gaming accessory.

    Should've been better

It's a great design, but for the price it should've lasted way longer. With simple use, nothing out of the ordinary, it lasted for about a year. The rubber sides started peeling away and it also began having stick drift. I wouldn't recommend spending this much on a controller that won't give you much in return.

Very solid controller with a nice weight to it. Adjustable tension in the thumbsticks is great and the charging dock inside the case was a really nice surprise. My only negatives are the lack of extra paddles being included and there not being a medium height thumbstick, the tall thumbstick is just a bit to tall for my liking.

Great Controller, love how it comes with interchangeable thumb sticks, the grip is nice, and the plus is the charging pad. The weight is a little heavy but not bad.

I'm on my 4th Elite controller. The bumpers (LB/RB) always go bad so I would strongly recommend getting the protection plan. It amazes me how much we pay for these for Microsoft to cut corners. I won't bash it completely, there are some positives. The grips are improved over the series 1 controller. The additional settings are great. I love the customizable tension in the sticks. Overall they are really nice. They're one of those tools that if it breaks or you lose it you have to replace it right away. It's just unfortunate that everyone I've ever had one of the bumpers goes on it, and it's never the same one.

You are essentialy taking a risk buying an Elite Series 2, here are the things that may happen. 1. Triggers or buttons not working out of the box 2. Stick drift may develop 3 months later 3. The controller will work just fine Other than that, this controller is amazing when it works properly. The build is very premium compared to the regular controllers, quality control is awful. I would recommend the controller, be prepared to replace it fast.

I think this control made back paddles mainstream and for that it has its place in history. But now there are better more reliable options on the market. If you don't need the back paddles the regular Xbox controller actually has lower (better) input latency than this controller. 7ms vs 14ms, defiantly makes a difference when playing anything online competitively. I would only buy this control for its comfort in hand factor and for playing single player games now days. Also lots and lots of QC issue with button actuation.

I ordered an XBox Elite controller online for a Christmas gift and it was ready to pick up less then 2 hours later at my local Best Buy store. Once i went into the store. I was waited on immediately, got the controller within 2 mins. No hassel or anything. Great overall experience and I will continue to order my electronics from Besy But. Excellent self help and customer service. An this is not the dirst time.

[Employee of bestbuy] The feel of these controllers are awesome, I’ve used mine for almost 3 years until the right bumper only worker if I pressed in a specific spot.

    Plagued with manufacturing problems

First off, I love this controller. This and the Series 1 are phenomenal. Problem is I've had to return it twice and the Series 1 (6 times). First Series 2 purchased in October, problems started in January. I dealt with it until March. Returned for refund because they were backordered. Got a replacement on June 5, 2020, same problem started on June 11. Returned. Didn't buy another one. The problems I encountered are as follows. Stick Drift. After using controller, I set it down and approximately 10 seconds later, the cursor would move on it's own. This was also a problem on the Elite Series one which I had to return about 6 times over 3 years. That's ridiculous. And to think the Series 2, costing $30 more than the Series 1, has the exact same issue. A second issue I had was sticky ABXY buttons. One press might register multiple presses. This started out of the box and I was hoping for a firmware upgrade to fix the issues. If Microsoft gets their manufacturing issues sorted out, I'd purchase again. If not, I will not be buying another one. And I do not recommend It.

Son loves it . It has new features that he likes. Not crazy about the price, but it is what it is. This was a Christmas present. People have said to watch the flippers on this remote because they break. So we will see how long they last.

Good improvement with the battery and Bluetooth. As far as “physical” upgrades go, if your gen 1 Elite controller is still performing well, then keep using it. This is for those who need to replace their gen 1 or for those who are looking into getting an Elite controller for the first time.

Fantastic controller with excellent preset options, alternate triggers and battery life. Switched from buying direct ( this is my 6th controller) to Best Buy as RB inevitably fails and Best Buy protection plan is the best.

I’ve had this for a month now and It’s the best controller I’ve ever had. I don’t plan on buying paddles, but the handles feel very comfortable and the customization of how far the triggers go makes the experience feel much more snappy
