This controller is an amazing piece to have for a gamer. This controller is a must if you are a more competitive player in certain games. The unit is premium with a bit of heft to it, so keep that in mind. The back paddles have a nice premium touch, while they conform to your hand without feeling awkward. The device itself has many presets you can configure as well. My last one lasted six years, so yes do not drop it so it can last you.

The Microsoft Elite Series 2 Controller is hands down the best controller I’ve ever used. The build quality is solid, the adjustable thumbsticks and trigger stops make a real difference, and the paddles on the back are a game-changer. The battery life is great, and it just feels premium in every way. It’s not cheap, but if you game a lot, it’s 100% worth it. I love it.

    Very good controller

The first thing I noticed is the ruber grips are better designed, it appears they may have fixed the issue that the series 1 controller had with the rubber grips beginning to peel off after a few months. The extra third slot for saving custom controller configurations is nice and the back pedals are now shorter which makes it feel more comfortable in your hand. With the series one controller I always had to take those paddles out if I weren't using them because they would prevent me from gripping the controller the way that felt comfortable for me. The adjustable tensioner for the thumbsticks is nice as well, and the battery does last a decent amount of time before it has to be recharged. The only downside is the fact that the battery pack is built in and cannot be removed. Overall the quality seems to be much better and it has a USB-C charging connector which is better than the old USB-B that the series 1 controller used, which you had to be very careful when connecting the cable; it could only connect one way and made it feel like if you weren't careful you might damage the connector. So far I am very pleased with my purchase.

Great Controller, but sticks still drift

Great controller. The rubberized grips feel good in your hands and it has a very well constructed, sturdy feel to it. The battery life is very long. The case and the charging cable are well built and a very nice touch. I like the fact that Microsoft gave you different sticks to swap out with convex and concave tops, depending on your particular preference, as well as one thumbstick that is taller than the others, for more precise and quicker movement. And that they are attached via magnet is very cool and works great. Then there are the underside paddles for your fingertips, which at first are difficult to get used to, but once you do, help out so much so that you dont have to lift your thumb off the right stick when crouching, interacting, reloading etc. Game changing. The only reason I dont give this controller 5 stars is because around 11 months after owning, both sticks now drift. Do yourself a favor and buy the extended warranty.

I love this controller. I Iike the weight, the paddles on the back, and the feel. I can't even play on a regular controller because they are so light to me now. It's kinda expensive for me.

I liked the elite 1, 2 and now I must say this is the best iteration yet. The differences from the 2 are very minuscule. You will have to buy the series two complete component pack if you don't already have the pieces you need from a previous elite controller otherwise your controller will be unplayable.

The Elite Series 2 Core is hands down the best controller I’ve ever owned. The build quality feels premium and solid, with a great weight in the hands. The grips are super comfortable for long gaming sessions, and the adjustable tension thumbsticks make a huge difference in precision. Battery life is excellent, and I love that it works seamlessly across my Xbox Series X, PC, and even cloud gaming. The customization options really elevate gameplay, and the overall performance is smooth and responsive. If you want a reliable, pro-level controller that takes gaming to the next level, this is it. Absolutely recommend!

Top quality controller. Easy to change joysticks and/or paddles. Rear paddles are great when I play Call of Duty, but what I like the most is that you can adjust the grips (LF, LR) at three different positions, what it helps to shot faster. However, it is not worth it for almost 200 dls.

Cannot map extra buttons to keyboard buttons

If you are buying this controller because you want to be a pro gamer who uses can press the A, B, X, Y buttons while still using the joy sticks, then this IS the controller for you. If you are buying this controller because you like to play game pad compatible PC games or driving sim games and just want a few more buttons to map actions to, DO NOT BUY THIS CONTROLLER. You cannot remap the extra buttons to other functions not already on the controller. Pros: Build quality is top notch. Feels very solid and the customizable joy sticks and D-pad are a an amazing feature. Battery life is solid going several days without recharging with daily use. Cons: There are some firmware issues that can cause the controller not to be recognized correctly by some windows systems. This issue has been on going for years. That said, even though it doesn't get recognized correctly sometime, it still functions as a game pad all the time. The biggest issue is that the extra buttons on the back of the controller CANNOT BE REMAPPED TO OTHER KEYBOARD BUTTONS. These buttons can only be mapped to buttons already on the controller. This is a completely ridiculous software lockout that makes these buttons obsolete for my purposes. My only reason for keeping my rating as high as it is is that this controller does what it is designed to do and it does it well.

Great feeling controller . More customizable than the previous gen. Decent weight and less finicky. A bit pricy for what you’re actually paying for but still decent. It doesn’t have the same level of innovation as the basic PS5 controller such as gyroscopes but it feels great in hand.

[Employee of bestbuy] This is by far the best and worst controller on the market. It's comfortable in the hand, the paddle position is top-tier, and it feels like a quality controller. Not to mention, I physically cannot switch to a different controller after using all the features this offers. The only downside is that the internals are mostly plastic, so stick drift and the bumpers becoming unusable are common with this controller. I've personally gone through 4 of these controllers, but I keep coming back.

    Stick Drift Issue

Best in comfort. Best in Quality. Bad in overall life. Sticks tend to start drifting 1 month after use. When purchasing, make sure to grab the warranty so you can return yours when it breaks and get a replacement for free.

[Employee of bestbuy] Problems: buttons (LB AND RB) start to work less over time, causing presses to not register. Some minor issues with the rubberized material peeling at the seem after a while. Too expensive to be having this problem at $180 pros: great controller with amazing customization. love the paddles too. it is great to hold and aiming with them is pretty much a breeze. I also love the adjustable triggers, and the case it comes with that can charge the thing.

Instantly you feel the qaulity of this controller! The response on this compared to the regular ones is insane! I noticed just playing NHL22 the response.. Great options as you can have 3 profiles and then the default one. The triggers are awesome! You can customize your sensitivity and comes with a carry case as it should for $180 which is the only CON about this as no controller should cost that.. Now i always wanted this but never wanted to spend the money but the wifey got this as an Xmas gift :) So if you have the money to spend go for it... now probably get the 2 year warranty next week as she didn't buy it but based off my experience on regular controllers might just do so since this is a high end controller...Impressive upgrade from the last one! This is def a GAME CHANGER!!! 40hours of battery life Customized Options INSTANTLY notice the response & quality Easy to swap out buttons Wireless charger Also can charge in carrying case with USB

While the Microsoft Elite Series 2 Wireless Controller is an exceptional gaming accessory, there is one aspect that could be improved upon. The controller's premium price point may be a deterrent for some gamers. The higher cost may limit its accessibility to a wider audience, especially those on a tight budget. However, considering the remarkable features and customization options it offers, the Elite Series 2 controller can still be seen as a worthwhile investment for serious gamers who prioritize performance and personalization. Ultimately, while the price may be a drawback for some, the overall quality and features of the controller make it a compelling choice for dedicated gamers.

The Elite Series 2 is honestly one of the best-feeling controllers I’ve used. It’s solid, comfortable, and the customization options are great — the paddles and adjustable triggers make a big difference. The battery lasts a long time too. My only real complaint is the stick drift, which showed up after a while and was disappointing for how much it costs. Still, when it’s working right, it’s easily my favorite controller.

If you are the sort of person that even considers dropping nearly $200 on a controller then you know this is already for you. I owned and initially had a dislike of the Series 1 Elite, too heavy, too ugly, too battery dependent. That’s all gone. If they didn’t indeed save weight they did a better job of spreading it out. Battery life is now tied to an internal pack so be sure to get the warranty. Should anything happen in the rare instance of a bad battery you will be able to replace. Don’t worry about your settings, you can save 250 profiles for your controller. That’s likely more profiles than you have games (unless you’re the sort that already bought this controller). The new lighter weight and textured grip have yielded much improved ergonomics and better gameplay. The free app available wherever this controller connects is a very detailed look at what you can configure and save. The included charging stand and case are impeccably designed. Finally, the much lauded switch to USB-C allows me to connect the Series X|S regular controllers for updates.
