Upgrade and downgrade from the original Elite

Ive been using the elite since nearly its release. I was a huge fan of the original for reasons such as the weight, the grip, the feel, the customization options and durability. The 2 main issues I have with it is the backside grips peeling and not able to re glue or re attach due to shape change after peeling, and the usb charging slot being finicky, as most usb charging ports lose its durability and develop issues overtime. I went through 3 controllers abiut eveey 2 years due to those 2 issues continually developing. This newer edition, Elite 2, has some amazing upgrades I'm quite attracted to. One being the type C charging port upgrade, as they seem much more durable and also faster charging. Having a non replaceable internal battery seems sketchy to me like it will lose ability to charge over a long time like other batteries like it, but for me i replace it every 2 years anyways, so its an upgrade for my personal use. The grips dont feel as comfortable to me, they seem to feel sticky even though its clean and my hands are clean. Just not that comfortable but ive gotten used to it. Doesnt seem like they will peel as easy as the 1st Elite version but time will tell. Its lighter in weight and a little smaller in size which going back and fourth between the 2, i prefer the heavier weight to it and larger size but im sure thats going to be a preference per each user. The ability to tighten the resistance of the joysticks is great for more precision use. The paddles are smaller, but ive grown to like that aspect. You can use the original Elite paddles on the Elite 2 version, they do fit, if you like larger paddles, but going back and fourth, the smaller paddles feel better now. An added position for trigger locking is a good upgrade instead of just the 1 position the original offered. Already been useful to me. The rest os really the same. Same mapping options, different size joysticks that fit your style, the globe and cross D pad options of course. The case is nice with the charging pad inside just plug the charging cord through the back into the device, helps keep controller dust free while not in use charging but you can charge while playing as well. I had fun customizing the color of the main power button. There are also more save settings for your custom mapping layout, 4 total i believe but I only need 2 myself anyway, typically LB and RB mapped to the rear paddles so I dont need to loft my fingers off the triggers at all. Overall, I think its the best option, even from off brand manufacturers that charge even more for less options it seems. Be sure to get GS warranty for 50 bucks or whatever it is, replace it after couple years because its not cheap, but worth the investment if you game and want more of a competitive edge, or just max comfort while playing. Took away a star due to the rubber grip that just doesnt feel as good as it could have.

I thought it would be the same as the standard elite controller, however it is made way cheaper. There are no metal peices unlike the more expensive elite controller. I would recommend to buy the more expensive elite controller. The money savings isnt worth it

Broke down and upgraded from the series 1. Not a bunch of changes from that one. It feels better and feels sturdier than the previous version.

Love the controller, but geeze! The first, I had to exchange because the drift was so bad. The second (and current) controller works, but the trigger sensitivity buttons came u glued after a couple months of use. Microsoft wouldn’t repair it.

Controller is great love the grip. And mappable back buttons. Only flaw is that it randomly disconnects. Ironically it only really does this when playing call of duty. But when it does even if you connect a cable you can't run at all until you turn the controller off an on at least twice

My previous elite controller broke and I didn’t want to buy a whole other elite controller for $180+. This was a good purchase because I already have the paddles and thumb sticks from my previous controller and this one was much cheaper.
