Great controller, random build quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bough one to replace the origina XBoxl Elite controllers I had. Those had horrible build quality. The Series 2 is head a shoulders better than Series 1, however, loke another review ,one of my controller had one of the trigger sliders just fall off. Later, the same controler lost the abikity to use the paddles. There wasnt anything wrong with the switches, it was just as if the paddles wouldnt align. A small piece of black gorilla tape over the switches fixed the issue, but i shoul have to rig these to work properly. Now, the second Series 2 i have suddenly has thumb stick drift. All of these controllers are store in their very nice cases, have not been dropped, or touched by children. The Pros: very night grip, well balanced, feels great in hands, super customizable, charging base, USB C for cable connected gaming or charging, great, long cable included. CONS: Random breakage, windows software doesnt update the firmware, seamingly the only option for a good customizable wireless controller for XBox and PC. Overall, i love the controllers. Lets hope by Series 3 therea more consistency in the quality.

Game changing experience!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This controller literally is an upgrade from the previous elite controller. I have owned the original elite controller and as I have enjoyed using that, it was flawed with the bumpers coming loose, grips peeling off, and the thumb sticks with issues as well. Let me just say that the creators listened to our feedback and completely redesigned it. It feels so great when your gaming and is customizable on more levels to fit your play style. I have the thumb sticks set, with the metal key that was given, to a tighter tension that feels like the old 360 controller and man is it nice! The paddles are comfortable, as well as the wrap around grip making it feel as if it belongs in your hands. With the new trigger stop design, giving me the option to select which point to respond when firing a weapon on shooter games is amazing. Having it set on the closest trigger point to press makes it easier and faster firing. If you aren’t sure whether to buy this or not, I am telling you that it is well worth the money. So far no problems at this point but as with any piece of tech, wear and tear is inevitable so definitely invest in the protection plan that Best Buy offers through Geek Squad. I can’t say enough how pleased I am with this product and I hope you consider this for your competitive needs.

Good but comes with latency for competitive
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good but not the best. I play on PC and im always looking for the most competitive edge. This is a solid choice but the input latency is a bit behind other controllers ive found. Its still good enough to compete dont get me wrong, very comfortable to game in. I just decided to look elsewhere due to the input latency. Hope when elite 3 release microsoft fixes that.

Almost hit the mark
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded from a Series one that had issues out the box. The OG had the sticky Y button and RB intermittent failures which I overlooked, but after moderate use, became increasingly worse, so I bit the bullet and took the chance yet again. This go around has proven better, the back pedals feel more stable, button, trigger and bump actuation feels crisper. Now though, I am already experiencing light stick drift which is disappointing. I have purchased all manners of high end controllers (Razer, Scuff, Astro etc) and it build quality seems to be the crux of all of them. These have at least held up to abuse for longer and Microsoft has even extended the warranty to a year. I am typically always against any additional warranty protection, but I would definitely recommend the accidental protection for this product as it’s well worth the money (Close friend has gone through 2, however, he is incredibly rough with his controllers).

6 months of regular use, sudden severe stick drift
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I owned the Series 1 elite for over a year before the stick drift became so bad I could no longer use the controller. At that time, Microsoft was willing to replace the controller for free (even well out of warranty) but you would be left for weeks without a controller. I purchased the Elite 2 in Jan 2020. Feels great, responds well...just an overall very nicely built controller (even better than the series 1). However, just like every controller i have owned to date from Microsoft, the sticks began to drift. Mostly the right stick, but eventually the left as well. The drift in the series 2 arrived one day and within a week was so bad I couldn't play any FPS games anymore. I adjusted the sticks using software which helped a little, also compensated in game increasing dead zones to max. But eventually, even that made little difference. So, once again, I am left with a $180 controller I cannot use. However, even better this time, Microsoft is no longer handing out replacements after their pitiful 90 day warranty expires. Instead they want $99 for a refurbed replacement which, after shipping will be around $120...and thats with a 2 week turn around and lets be honest, will develop the drift again. Microsoft is currently being sued for this known defect in their products. Not sure it will amount to anything and certainly doesn't help me. Buying the Best Buy warranty is always a safe bet, however, at $49 each time you have to replace it and the uncertainty that they will even be in stock, it just seems like a lose lose situation. I have since bought the PowerA pro version to use for now. Reasonable price, not as customizeable nor as responsive as the Elite but it has a good feel, you can use paddles and it's 1/2 the price AND usually in stock at Best Buy so if it does kick the bucket, I can get it replaced for free immediately (with 2 year GEEK warranty I purchased). I'd say, if you have to have paddles, try the Power A instead. Or go with Microsoft and gamble on how long before your buttons stop working or your sticks start drifting. Good luck gamers!

Don't do it
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It never worked wireless. It worked plugged in but not wireless... That's not handy for a wireless controller and an expensive one at that. So we took it back and got a different one. Don't bother wasting your time with it. We should have read the reviews before the initial purchase...

Hands Down best controller for Xbox
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This controller is amazing. It is heavy, because its made with quality metal. Ive had my controller for about 2 years and I have learned abt some issues with it that can be fixed using a screwdriver kit. 1 issue is with the bumpers not registering after a few drops and normal wear and tear. Taking apart the controller can only be described in a video so search it on youtube. A fix is bending the small plastic U shaped spacer that provides the click, into an L and putting it back in. The second issue is after normal use the bumper will pull off a sticky pad from the interior holding the electrics for another component, the easiest fix its just pulling it off after taking apart the controller. The behomoth of a controller lasts literally forever has the sit down charger installed in the case which can also be plugged up while in the case. Great controller. Just try not to drop it.

Really like this controller but...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had the controller for maybe 3 months now and I really like the grippiness of the controller. It also lasts days on a single charge. The back pedals are super nice and are useful in call of duty. The only bad thing is I have stick drift now- right side joystick. It's not a bad drift but its still drifting 3 months after purchase. One thing I didn't like about purchasing it through the store and not on the app is the person over the counter didn't mention anything about a warranty through Best buy and only told me that it has a warranty through the manufacturer which is 1 year.

Legacy sticks! Must have for legacy players
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ever since controllers adapted to a second joystick I’ve been left out of enjoying a significant number of games because my brain became hardwired for “Legacy Sticks” after playing Goldeneye 64. This means the X axis for the left stick and the right stick are swapped. So the left stick walks forward and back but turns left and right. The right stick looks up and down but strafes left to right. Some of the bigger games like call of duty, halo, and a few others have always offered legacy but many others have not. Playing with default sticks simply isn’t an option because it gives me a migraine and makes me sick to my stomach after a little while. Then finally, this controller offers the simple but world opening option to swap the x axis for both sticks. All FPS games are now on the table for me and I can finally play games like Cyberpunk and FarCry. It can make driving and navigating menus a little wonky but thankfully switching to default controls is a breeze with the profile button. Aside from that, the rechargeable battery, quieter (but still noisy) dpad, and overall feel of the controller are excellent. This is hands down the best Xbox accessory I’ve owned. If you’re a legacy stick player, RUN to the store and get yourself one now. You’ll be stoked! To change select Left Stick, Primary, and then Swap X Axis. Enjoy!
