It doesn’t come with the bumpers so you have to buy them separately. I would just build a custom one through Microsoft instead of buying this.

Replaced 2 of these now. On my third BUT I LOVE THEM. Either take very good care of them or get the warranty, I cannot express enough how much I love this controller.

This controller has allowed me to gain an advantage on players with my paddle installation. I have been accused of cheating and several hate comments due to me dominating. Thank you.

It’s a good controller but the small nub things on the back for the triggers broke off within a couple months. At around a year the bumpers stopped working. I was able to bind the bumper to one of my paddles that I didn’t use as often so I could press that instead of the bumper.

Great controller. Feels well built and is customizable. Lasted a couple years, wish it still stayed together but had a lot of use.

It WILL break, lousy warranty coverage.

I love my elite. It was purchased to replace a stock controller that had gotten horrible drift. Unfortunately, almost immediately after the warranty (90 days) expired it ALSO started to drift. Now it drifts on BOTH sticks and Microsoft flatly states that the warranty coverage expires after 90 days so, to summarize: For $179.95 Microsoft guarantees a working controller for 3 months. After that, you're on your own. This happens to all of them, there is a class action lawsuit against Microsoft already for this exact problem.

The controller itself is awesome and useful for gaming but omg its a piece of poop. Multiple things have broken/don’t work properly and there has been some stick drift as well. Only have had it for for <4 months. Microsoft are such scammers

I was excited when Microsoft announced this controller because they specifically talked about bumper and stick drag durability. Both of my bumpers are broken after 4 months of having this controller. Unacceptable seeing as they cost $180

The controller worked great for about 10 days. I loved the hair trigger option and the ability to configure the paddles. This was the first one I bought because I was skeptical of paying that kind of price for a controller but I went through a few of the $60 ones just one normal use so I figured why not get this one and not have to buy another one. However, 10 days in, the right trigger is squeaking really bad now and it is only when it is on the lowest setting for the hair trigger. Ugh.. I guess I am going to have to return it.

But I can't give more stars bc MS still hasn't addressed QC issues with their almost $200 hardware. I can buy a used xbox one for less... with a controller. Mine lasted about 6 mos before the right bumper started having issues. Fortunately no stick drift or face button issues but who knows when I get my replacement. Time for the elite controller lottery. Had similar issues with my original elite. Went through about 5 of them in two years. Oh, yeah. I'm getting a replacement but not from the manufacturer. Had to buy geek squad protection. $200 hardware doesn't even come with a year warranty. Was the same way with the original elite so nothing new but still shouldn't be that way. Maybe just make reliable hardware so that you can offer a year warranty and not go broke fixing/replacing defective ones? Even with geek squad, very hard to get replacement in the time of covid. Understandable, given the circumstances, but still sucks. A few positives: At least it feels like hefty, quality hardware. Back paddles feel improved; left and right bumpers, not so much. Grips can't fall off anymore bc they're etched into the housing. I actually preferred the old grips bc I could just replace them with better scuf grips. There's really no good aftermarket solution for the new grips. They feel quite slippery but maybe I'm just used to my scuf grips. Three presets instead of two. Has internal rechargeable battery (if the battery goes, you have a brick) and the case doubles as a charging station which seems nice for now.

Alright. So I'll start with what very little i can say is good. It has a nice feel. It has great button placement. It plays nice. When it works. Dear lord, every single time i try to play a game on PC and use this thing there is some random issue. Trying to jump in a game? Man, sounds like you want your volume to go waaayyy up! Need to back out of a menu? You want to screen shot yeah? Every time i want to play a game this god foresaken thing is plagued by every bug that Bethesda ever got out of their code. Its just not worth it. I spend an hour every time trying to get around random stuff and by the time im done i dont even want to play. No wonder Sony is winning this round of the console wars

Google Elite Series 2 Issues before purchase

Let me preface this by saying I have been an Xbox Live Gamer for over 16 years. For the most part, I have had excellent customer service from Microsoft. This is my only complaint thus far. I had a had an original Elite controller that had issues after the initial one year warranty. Customer service listened to me and sent me a second controller without a fight because they understood the value of a long time satisfied customer. The replacement eventually crapped out as well from a non responsive shoulder button. Spoiler alert: this issue is not exclusive to the original Elite controller. I purchased the Series 2 on launch day for $180. My initial controller was defective out of the box with an unresponsive Y button. I immediately returned it and was sent a new controller. Mind you, the Elite 2 only has a 90-day warranty. In the past couple of months, I noticed my bumpers were not registering presses or they were double pressing. I reached out to Microsoft customer support, however, they stated they could only help me if I paid another $99. So, the total cost of a "premium" controller that is less than a year old would be just shy of $300. It is disappointing that Microsoft would release something with such poor quality control, only put a 90 day warranty on a controller that costs nearly half of a console, and then refuse to assist a long time customer. For the first time, I can honestly say I am incredibly disappointed with Microsoft.

Same horrible build quality, different color. This controller is no different than any of the other Elite 2 controllers I have had that end up breaking after regular use. The bumpers already feel like they are sticking and I've had to adjust the thumbstick due to drift. DO NOT BUY THIS CONTROLLER!
