I purchase this controller has an open box excellent condition. My order arrived late and the controller was not in excellent condition, it had marks and scratches all over it and the RB button wasn't responding I took it to my local store to get it replace because I had bought the 2 year warranty and I called customer service and they told I could take it to my store and get it exchange. After arriving at the store they told me they can't replace the item because they dont have any open box to replace it with and they can only refund the item and the warranty only allow replace if there is an open box to replace it with and i would have to call customer service if I want a discount towards getting a new one and I have call customer service over 5 times and transfer over 10 times to be hang up on are told they're sorry there isn't they can do but refund the money.

All of the materials feel incredible, to the point where I'm pretty sure I could use this thing as a form of self-defense if it came down to it. Underneath the sturdy exterior though is an entire dysfunctional restaurant's worth of problems. For me it started with intermittent disconnecting, and ended with the controller literally shutting itself off if I pushed the right thumbstick in too hard. I'm sending it back to Microsoft under warranty, which is a hassle. If you're going to buy this, buy Best Buy's coverage for it so you can do a walk-in replacement when yours inevitably develops one of the myriad of issues you can read about if you research this controller online.

After reading how Microsoft was improving the quality with series 2 I decided to try this and got burned again. Within a few months the left trigger is already sticking. I have not had food or drink near the controller. For such an expensive controller the failure rate is way too high. While the controller was working it felt great. Buttons responsive and quiet lots of customization options, back triggers etc but I can't recommend it with the lousy build quality and QC.

Biggest problem I’ve had is durability problems get the 2 year tech replacement it’ll pay for itself. On my second controller would buy it again if it wasn’t good just have the warranty this time around.
