Best Buy’s return policy had expired. Microsoft is supposedly extending its warranty on these due to many other issues with this controller.

Just get the Best Buy Warranty and get it replaced after a year when it inevitably breaks, so you can buy one every other year than every year.

Is this some kind of sick Joke?

I bought last summer and it seemed to be fine then both bumpers stopped working. So I sent it into Microsoft for service under warranty. They sent me back a new controller which when I unpackaged had a completely different issue with the left thumbstick. How can they service the and send back a replacement only to have even more frustrating problems on the first day I opened it. This doesn't belong on the shelf it's not worth half what I paid.
