Built in battery performs as specified. Usually 40 hours life on a single charge even afyer 6/8 montha of use. The RB and LB buttons are still iffy. RB button works half the time after hours of use. The A button sometimes doesn't work when pressed. If you're gonna buy this item you might as well get a warranty.

Not sure if I'd say it was all that much better than the Version 1, but it does last. Personally, I preferred the Astro C40 controller for feel, use during game play and setup. However in 3 years, I went through 3 of the C40s, and my older Version 1 of this is still kickin. So if you don't feel like swapping controllers every year, and still want a controller that has the buttons on the back I'd recommend this one.

I love the textured grip where your palms rest, as well as the additional accessories you get vs the Series 1. For example. there's now a 360 style pop on joystick that's noticeably bigger/rounder than Xbox One's and I LOVE IT! I've missed the bigger/larger sticks so getting this back is welcomed. I just wish they'd make the 360 larger sticks with the textured grip on the rim of it like the Xbox One's sticks so I could have the best of both world's lol. No complaints though!

I already have the Xbox Elite 2 controller but use that with my Xbox Series X. Which is black like the X. Anyway I also had the first Xbox Elite controller so already have all that i need for the new one. Which just seems like its suppose to go with the Xbox Series S.

I think this is the best controller you can buy right now. You can remap the buttons, adjust the sensitivity of each joystick, make 3 presets of customization for different games. The joysticks themselves can be swapped out for different shaped ones that come with it. I have gotten so used to the the paddles on the back that I can't go back to a normal controller.
