They should come standard on all controllers to be honest.... But the the elite isn't built to last ,,this is my 3rd series 2 elite...( Went through 5 of the first gen. ones) The sticks will start to drift and then eventually stop working completely... Definitely buy the extended warranty.

I had one for my pc and xbox but i love it so much that i bought a second rather than going back and forth. Then I bought one for my son because he kept taking mine. These controllers are solid and well crafted.

A product this expensive should not have that kind of a reputation though . . . There is supposed to be an extended warranty for 1 year offered by microsoft. I honestly don't know how the warranty works, but the device works just fine.
