The Elite Series 2 Xbox controller is exactly what it says it is: elite. The full package comes with a case that has charging capabilities built into it, storage for the paddles that can go on the bottom of the controller, and storage for the optional sticks. The controller is fully customizable using the Xbox app, and gives you the ability to configure multiple profiles. You can switch between the profiles directly on the controller giving you the option to quickly change layouts when testing things out or switching to other games. The controller works well with Windows 11, which is one of the reason I got it. The overall weight and premium feel of the controller are both really nice. I still think the A-B-X-Y buttons feel kinda sticky and cheap like they do on the base controller. Rechargeable batteries are integrated with the controller. The paddles for the underside of the controller and different stick options allow you to customize the feel and functionality of the controller. The controller is pretty expensive, but also on par with other premium controllers available. I’d you want a premium experience, integrated rechargeable batteries, customizable gaming experience, and don’t mind shelling out almost $200 (after tax), then go for it. Otherwise, you could simply get the Elite 2 Core Controller for around $120 and add the case and extra parts in the future if you are wanting them.

You can tell this would be a good controller if it didnt have so many hardware issues unfortunately im returning mine. If you play fortnite just get the power A pro controller this isnt worth it. Got a new controller out the box with a faulty B button.

Had the controller for 18 months and now the left joystick is completely broken. Had to switch back to my original Xbox controller that’s been working for 10 years. Never should have bought this. Controller is ergonomically perfect and the build quality FEELS great, but I should have listened to all the reviews saying that it WILL break down after 1 year.

Elite series 2 controller has its ups and downs

Elite series 2 controller has its ups and downs. Xbox One series X Let's start with the ups the weight of the controller and how it fits in your hands is magnificent. other controls are too light and easy to slip out while playing. Let's get into the controlling the joystick moving around from left to right 360°. It's pretty good over all you actually can go into the controller settings, fine tune it which is great feature and Makes it a little easier to control the way you like. The buttons, D pad right left trigger right and left bumper overall excellent when. fine tuning There's not too many downs on the controller. As far as I can tell, I've had several elite controls over the years and the main reason for replacing them was stick drift. The controller starts drifting and unable to control it. With my recent purchased as soon as I connected, it automatically started to drift stick The game I play now has a feature in it that I'm able to adjust stick drift. Which I shouldn't really have to, but it is what it is. It's kinda hard to shoot while your guns going from left or right up and down at least now I'm able to control it but that's something that needs to be fixed. But overall, the controller vibrations, and everything else is good Overall, it's excellent just a few minor adjustments. and you'd be rig into gameplay. Hope this helps you out.

Horrible design it’s bulky and the buttons slide right off your fingers. I made plenty of mistakes with this controller and honestly, I’ll be better with the normal one. I recommend to not buy. It needs a lot of help… also with the little pieces, the joysticks in the box came horrible. Save your money. It made me so

I love this controller. It is comfortable and ergonomic in hand, feels like it has a high build quality, looks nice and has nice customization. The paddles on the back really improved my FPS play. The battery life is also fantastic. However, the build quality, although feels great, is just not great. The buttons, specifically trigger and bumpers start to fail rather quickly and the stick drift right out of the box. If it were not for this, I would give this controller 5/5 stars. But because of this, I am purchased another controller and I am going to try that out and maybe jump ship. This controller introduced me to the world of back button paddles, so I am grateful for that, but in the end, I do not game enough for this controller to be failing me, so I am on to something else. If you are handy and own the proper tools, you can replace the switches for fairly cheap, which may make this controller more enticing at its price, but most people are not going to attempt that.

Don't purchase Microsoft items anymore. Never worth the money. I spend $190 only for it to start falling apart after 2 years. The rubber is coming off and it already expanded so I cannot re-glue it back on which I should not have to do for an item this expensive anyway.

I dont understand why poeple still like the batteries, I end up just buying rechargeable packs anyways. But, with this I can just leave it in the charger and its always ready to go. Only issues i had was the set up process on PC.

I bought an open box version on the controller. Website said in excellent condition. Lol. Probably should have actually looked at the controller before they gave it that rating. Side of it was damaged where it appears someone tried to open the controller. It doesn't charge either. Waste of my time.

For a $200 controller it is not premium the side rubber comes off after couple onths of use I also have many friends with same issue. I tried crazy gluing it and it made it worst. This remote is not meant to last.

Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2

Bought this to play certain games on my PC, because all of the generic Xbox controllers I purchased usually break very easily (the spring-return breaks in the a-b-x-y buttons, or drift on the sticks etc) so why not buy a $200 controller? First thing I noticed was the controller weight, it's got some heft. Feels great in your hands especially with the rubberish grip material, I like the customization options and additional buttons, cross and joysticks. You can remove the paddles on the back or disable them with the middle button between the pause and option buttons. You can go wired (with included braided USB-C cable) or wireless via bluetooth. I dont like enabling bluetooth on my motherboard so i bought the official Xbox Wireless USB adapter, which works perfectly with Win 10 and this controller. The sticks can be swapped out for longer, or fatter ones (included) and you can swap out the disc for the traditional up-down-left-right cross (also included). The stick tension can be adjusted tighter or looser to your liking. I have owned this for one month (to the day) and have used it heavily playing mostly RDR2 PC (i game most of my free time) and so far it's held up very well. I've used it wired (no problems) and wireless (via USB adapter) with only a few dropped connections (the game pauses and says press any key to continue) no idea if it's radio (noise) interference or freak accidents with the USB adapter, but if you press the Xbox logo button it should reconnect in a few seconds with no issues. I charge fairly often after using wireless, and game multiple consecutive hours and so far the battery has not died on me during play. The only issue I have with this is the price. Again, it's a $200 (a little under $200) but I got the insurance because of the heavy gaming I do, and again, i paid almost $200 for this so... But it's a sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet controller hands down.

Great Controller With Unfortunate Quality Issues

I have a complicated relationship with Microsoft's Elite controllers. On the one hand, I love how solid they feel, all of the replaceable parts and customized settings. They feel like the last controllers you'll ever need to buy, which would hold true if they didn't have so many quality issues. Despite all the problems I've had I do still love this controller, but I'd recommend getting the Geek Squad protection if you're thinking about it, which offers a little more peace of mind than Microsoft's paltry 90-day warranty. The packaging for the Series 2 controller is excellent. The charging base can be used to charge the controller inside the case, but can also be removed and put somewhere else. You get a couple thumb stick options, a thumb stick tension tool, a swap-able D-pad, spots to store the paddles, and a nice braided USB-C to USB-A cable for charging. It all fits very nicely inside the case, though I feel like the upper mesh compartment that stores the cable could be a little bit bigger; when the cable is in the case it feels like it's pushing down on the sticks in a way I worry could cause issues. Overall great package though. The controller itself feels super solid and is really comfortable to hold. It's the primary reason I purchased it in the first place and I don't even really get into the customization options that much. It feels like it's just the right weight. I'm not a huge fan of the paddles and more often than not was pressing them accidentally, but they're easily removed. The stick tension can be adjusted with the included tool, but it's again something I left alone as I don't miss the 360 stick tension like some others do. There are also 3 levels of adjustment for the triggers if you want shorter travel on those. It truly does feel like what it costs when you hold it. The app for customizing everything is intuitive and easy to use on both Xbox and PC, though again my desire was never really for customization and I just wanted a nice controller, so I can't comment too much on it. You can set up 3 unique profiles on the controller (4 if you include the default configuration with no profile set) and pressing the middle button is all you need to do to switch between them. It opens up possibilities even within the same game where you may prefer a different layout/setting for certain activities. Also new to the Series 2 is the addition of a built-in battery and Bluetooth, which are both nice to have. It always struck me as odd with the first one that such an expensive controller would not include a rechargeable battery, so I'm glad they fixed it in Series 2. Now, onto my issues. I owned the original Elite controller and loved it for a while until I started experiencing stick drift. It was outright terrible, but it makes playing games that require extra precision like Celeste pretty much impossible. Unfortunately those issues came into play well after my warranty had expired and I was never quite able to figure out Microsoft's website for getting it repaired. I knew this was a well-known issue, so when they announced the Series 2 I was hopeful that issue would be addressed, but weary of my initial experience I went ahead and bought the Geek Squad protection with the Series 2. It's disappointing that Microsoft doesn't extend the warranty to at least a year for something that requires so much more investment than the standard controllers. Things were fine with my Series 2 for about 5 or 6 months maybe until I started noticing stick drift again on the left stick. It wasn't bad enough that I wanted to use my Geek Squad replacement yet, so I held off on doing anything about it until one of the switches that adjust the triggers broke. Fortunately the process for replacing it through Best Buy was super easy and I received my replacement today. Hopefully this one will work better than the last, but it makes me sad that something that could be so great is still hampered by these issues. I still think this is the best controller you can buy for Xbox and is even one of the best for PC, but it's hard to ignore the issues I've had and I probably wouldn't recommend it to most people. If you don't get any sort of extended warranty plan I would recommend watching yours in those first 90 days to make sure any issues that pop up get fixed before the warranty runs out. Note: I purchased this on its original release date in November and just recently had it replaced.
