WAY TOO often I have had to buy Xbox One controllers. Generally, Xbox 360 controllers I didn't have to replace and seemed to be a sturdier design, but it seems I'm lucky if an Xbox One controller lasts more than a year or two at best. Since this was on sale, I decided to try a little more expensive model and was intrigued by the additional buttons and profiles/programmability. I do feel they were a little cheap to not include the rear paddles for these new buttons but, since that's the only negative I’ve perceived thus far, I'm still going to give it a full five rating as I can't do a half star. It has been a solid controller thus far! The rechargeable battery has certainly pleased me with how long it lasted before I had to charge it for the first time. That's a good thing because it didn't look like it had a typical user removable battery pack like Insignia's that I'm used to buying which definitely don't last as long per charge. Also, the main home button is a much better design where you don't have to press as deep for it to register. That is one of the first buttons to go bad for me--tends to get less responsive or feels like you have to press/hold harder or do multiple attempts to either get the home menu or power down options as the controller ages.

At first I really did love the feel of this controller. Add in the ability to customize your joysticks, dpads, and paddles really had me happy with the purchase. Unfortunately after only a couple months, my right bumper mysteriously stopped registering for certain presses and eventually just stopped working. After looking at forums and various reviews, I’ve noticed this is a common problem with the controller which makes me wonder if this means they released a faulty controller with a $200 price tag and didn’t care. At the end of the day, it is a very solid controller and when it worked, I loved the feel of it. Unfortunately that doesn’t justify a $200 dollar price tag when there is such a glaring issue that multiple people have dealt with. Microsoft, hopefully with the next elite controller set, this will not be an issue. If you don’t need your bumpers, this controller is perfect, but most games I play do so it’s a no go for me.

Controller is very nice to use and you wont want to go back to a normal xbox controller after but wear and tear can hit it pretty hard. Bumpers fail often, stick drift is decently frequent, and I've even had an A button stop working. Protection plan is almost a must, but it has been one of my favorite controllers.

Okay for the online gamer this is definitely a great idea for your gaming experience yes it’s definitely pricey but buy once and no not like the saying you will not cry once. I have had the elite series controllers since last model and yes upgraded and love the customization of them and the ease of use and the performance is amazing. Battery life is great also. If you’re a gamer you will love this controller and it will make gaming experience even more awesome. Definitely go get you one and enjoy and get the geek squad coverage to it’s worth it for all your purchases.

Great controller, has proven to be more durable than the original elite 2 while being slightly lighter in weight. Ive used elite 2 controllers for about 3 years and the bumpers always fail withing the first year or shortly after and this elite core has been running the longest, so in comparison i definitely would put the core on top, and you can get cool colors.

Never thought I would spend so much on a controller, but after seeing all the great reviews on it I decided to give it a try. Besides being lightweight and comfortable to hold, it comes with a case and charger (and btw the battery lasts a long time). On top of that you can customize the sticks, the d-pad, the resistance on the triggers, and program the back paddles. The great thing is it will hold a default mapping as well as three other mappings that you can set yourself and switch between with the push of a button. Didn't think I needed it, and probably don't, but I love having it.

It’s got a great feel to it and I like the ability to customize is nice, I had my first one for two years. It started to drift and the buttons began to not respond. Otherwise it’s great to use.

This controller feels extremely high quality and the customization options on PC and Xbox are great. The only problem is that I have had bad luck with stick drift with my first controller, but I'm not sure if it's a single unit problem or a general design issue. My replacement one is currently working great

This is one of the most solid feeling controllers I've handled. The quality is on point, it feels good on hand, but the battery life on this exceeded expectations. More than a week and not having to charge it. I love the additional accessories that come with it and the carrying case makes it convenient especially for game pass on the go.

This is my 2nd Elite Series Xbox controller. Size, feel, quality is top notch. The paddles are very comfortable and the controller comes with additional paddle and button options for personal preferences. It is easy to connect to the console and the charging station is fantastic. Nothing bad to say about this controller. Highly recommend.

I love this controller! The weight, the bulkiness, very durable, and yet comfortable. My main complaint is that its got a classic elite controller issue. The previous model always had problem with the bumper buttons and joysticks. This model currently has no problems with the joystick but instead the L Bumper. Elite controller buttons are always getting jammed or stuck

Huge upgrade from a regular controller. The weight is heavier but that makes it so much better. The grip pads are an excellent touch. Love the different map settings and light customization. And getting paddles is a must

*Will update this review at 6 months First impression is that nothing else compares. This is my first elite controller and after holding the original xbox controller, the difference is felt right away. I dont own an xbox, so i use this while playing on PC. With that being said, the ability to remap pretty much any button to any function you would normally use on keyboard on to the controller, is phenomenal from a quality of life perspective. Construction is sturdy, and the textured rubber grips that wrap around where you hold gives a next level of comfort. Being able to adjust the tension and force needed to move the joystick is a great feature. The soft-touch face is nice, but i can see this becoming a fingerprint magnet. Buttons are nice and tactile, and all the changeable parts are magnetic so you wont have to worry about snapping anything. A huge plus is the carrying case which doubles as a charging station via usb-c, and a holder for other accessories (the charging dock inside can also be used independently from the case). A few cons, though its a bit nit-picky are the length of the paddles. This isnt too big of a deal, but i had to readjust my grip and how i hold the controller to press the paddles on the back without my fingers interfering one another (i have medium-large hands). A USB dongle to connect the controller to pc is not included and would have to be ordered separately, which can be a con to some. The longevity of this controller is yet to be seen from personal experience, as i have read reviews of this controller being DOA, buttons not working after a few months, or the terrible stick drift. Honestly, i don't see myself buying another controller after this as this is truly the ultimate device for handheld/controller gaming. Is it worth the upgrade from an original controller? For my application, yes! Should you buy it? Depends on what you're looking to do with it.

It works good when brand new, within a few month of gameplay. Either the left or the right thumbsticks get stick drift. Then I have to get it exchanged l. BestBuy makes it easy to exchange broken warrantied items with their yearly renewable total protection plan as well.

My last controller had stick drift so I went to the store to buy a new one and just as I was about to get the basic standard controller I saw this one and thought “eh screw it it’s only $20-$30 more” best decision ever because feel great and love the customization

Best in comfort. Best in Quality. Bad in overall life. Sticks tend to start drifting 1 month after use. When purchasing, make sure to grab the warranty so you can return yours when it breaks and get a replacement for free.

The controller is good and feels great only problem is a little stick drift besides that it’s good pro controller

Controller is working great. It is configurable and adjustable in just about any way and can suit anyone’s needs and play style. I have had no stick drift issues with these and the paddles are nice and clicky.
