Sure enough, this one failed around the 6 month mark as well. Fortunately, after a couple bad controllers I spent the extra $5 for protection plan. Unfortunately, when this one broke BestBuy was out of stock nationally so I had to go back to standard controllers. Hopefully the Xbox One X controllers will be more stable.

The refurbished controllers seem to have flaws and require exchanging until you get one that works. I live and die by the paddles and have average size hands. Someone with larger hands may struggle with the paddles. Long term use even with careful handling will eventually break the controller sticks or buttons. Buy these on sale, the quality of the controllers does not justify full price.
