It feels pretty smooth and fragile but it is heavy and the buttons do need some getting used to but it goes with practice. I highly recommend getting the insurance you never know if any mistakes happen. But very nicely made.

The first thing I noticed was how nice the joy sticks felt. They feel tight and have a comfortable amount of resistance, spring back nicely too. The controller itself just feels like a quality build. One suggestion would be to leave the paddles on if they bother you right away, after a couple days you'll find that they dont feel so out of place any more and will have adjusted your grip.

Bought this for my husband as a combo set for his new x box one x and he loves It! Uses it every night! He loves the soft sleek grip and interchangeable features. It's a gamers must need item! It comes with it's own controller case. So absolutely no way to lose or damage your controller! It also compatable with the 2 different charging stations we have.

    Great controller...mostly

To start off with, I mainly use this controller with the wireless adapter connected to my pc. I haven't used it on my xbox much since I've been playing pc based games more often lately, although I have used it briefly on the xbox just to try it out and update the firmware. The Elite controller is very well built with a solid feel. Rubberized grips makes keeping hold of it easier than the regular controller. I also like the ability to change the thumbsticks and d-pad to customize the controller. I was initially concerned that I would pop those out during play, but found that since you mostly push in a downward direction during play they stay firmly put. The controller is a bit heavier than the regular xbox one controller, but you get used to it quickly. The only thing that disappointed me was the programmable paddles (they are removable, by the way). Thought maybe I could use those to send a one character command so I wouldn't have to reach for the keyboard. The paddles are programmable, but seems you can only program it to emulate buttons already on the controller (like a right or left trigger). So if you want a press of the paddle to emulate a keyboard character, say a "g".... nope it won't do it (oh well.. have a chatpad attached so I guess I really don't reach for the keyboard much anyway). Other than that, I'm quite happy with the Elite controller.

Great controller. Has a nice feel to it. Easy to set up. Only downside I have found so far is that you can't set it down just anywhere. You have to set it on a flat surface that is wider than the controller. If not you end up pushing buttons with the paddles. I love the feel and ease of use. My wife and novice player was able to pick up the new controls and use it with no issue.

I bought this because I wanted a well built controller. It has a great feel and heft to it. So far it responds well. I have heard that there are issues with the bumpers breaking. So far so good but I am sure those are gamers that really use them a lot. I don't see this as a product for a casual gamer. I game everyday so I consider myself a gamer but I don't need a controller that has all the bumper extensions. If they offered something similar without the extensions, at a cheaper price, then I would rather buy something like that. All in all I am happy with my purchase, as this was a gift to myself, but if I was someone that was looking at buying a controller, and I was a casual gamer, I would not buy it. But if you are really into gaming, for long gaming sessions, I definitely recommend this product.

If price is no object, waste no time and purchase this controller. To me, it's worth every penny at the normal price and a bargain on sale. Solid build. Superb grip. More responsive than the standard Xbox 1 controllers. Customize-able.

Well made, sturdy, programmable with plenty options. Opens up a whole slew of options for the limited console control. Great for fps. Battery life is as least that of the original and being able to configure the paddles make it a must have.

Plain and simple. This is the best controller ever made. The customization is amazing. Magnetized parts feel sturdy and strong. This controller has great weight and feel with added rubber grips. Very nice controller. Nothing compares.

It made me better at Call of Duty

I used to never to be able to pull off in-air kills. I think I had maybe a dozen in my first few months of playing Black Ops 3. That all changed within a few weeks of getting this bad boy. This past weekend, I had six jump-kills in one single match. I've mapped the jump to the left lower trigger - that way, I can gauge the jump strength with the left hand while aiming and firing with the right. It allows me to to jump precisely and aim accurately at the same time, and it's been a gamechanger for me. The programmable app makes changing settings a snap. I was not a fan of the default setup, but was easily able to change it to suit my needs. Likewise, the adjustable triggers also make customizing a setup to meet your particular needs very, very easy. This is a very well-thought-out package. About the only negative I can report is that for me, it's really only good for FPS games. I thought it might be good for Forza, but I find the standard button setup for shifting gears to be preferable to using the rear paddles. I think it has to do, again, with asking one hand to perform multiple tasks, such as gauge braking strength along with downshifting. All in all, a great package. If you're not a FPS heavy gamer, you probably want to give it a pass, but then, you probably already knew that.

This is the best controller available on any console. The paddles are game changers and the trigger stops help as well. It has a nice weight to it. The only drawback is the short warranty for such an expensive item. I highly recommend buying the extended warranty to protect your purchase.

Can't Play Xbox One Without It

I have owned an Elite controller since its release. It is by far the best way to play on the Xbox One. Not all the extra features are used, but the feel and built of the controller is much better than the regular controllers. I do use the round thumbpad a lot. I find that it is the best way to play to fighting games for me. I can never get used to using an arcade stick, so the round thumbpad is my main reason for using this controller. The longer thumbsticks do help with shooters. I find it much faster to aim and it cuts down on the time to switch between targets. The half-pressed trigger buttons are a big help when sniping. I don't play as a sniper in online shooting games, but I use the feature often when playing the game 'Zombie Army Trilogy'. In that game you are forced to run-and-gun as a sniper, and the half-pressed trigger becomes extremely helpful. Other than those features, I find the built and weight to be perfect for me. I am a big, strong guy and the heavy built feels perfect in my hands. The controller buttons don't stick after rough use. I usually don't know my own strength and have had problems since the original Xbox controllers where buttons become stuck. Not a single button on the Elite controller has become stuck. They still just as great as when I first started to use the controller. I am on my second Elite controller. The first controllers headphone jack stopped working. Besides that issue, the first controller still plays great. I use it as a second controller. I had to buy a new controller because I can't play with another controller. I even got a custom controller from the Microsoft Design Lab, and that one is still in the box. I played with it for little bit, then switched right back to the Elite controller. The price may not be for everyone. And you probably won't use every feature on the controller. But, I highly recommend the controller as a premium, luxury product. I also highly recommend getting an extended warranty with the controller.
