Its a great controller until you start using it and the wear and tear just starts immediately. It feels like a quality controller but is not.

Concept for the controller is good if you are a heavy gamer. Only drawback is trying to find the app that goes on Xbox to configure the controller. Very hard to find.

Comes with carry case and extra accessories. Grips on the handles make for easier gripping. One of the triggers broke in less than a year so i would recommend the warranty,

I’ve had two elite controllers at this point. They’ve both functioned well until one joystick started sticking and the others grips tore off in time.

Bought the controller as a Christmas gift to myself... I'm no hardcore gamer and I mainly play single player games. Two weeks of normal gaming and one of the analog sticks have loosened up on me enough that I can rotate the entire analog stick and if I shake the controller my character on screen will move. Disappointed after spending $160 on this thing. Ya I'll probably get a replacement but this is just a bad omen of things to...

    Misleading advertising from Microsoft

I originally bought this controller just for the extra buttons on the bottom. I thought that, since I was using the controller with my Windows PC, I could use them as extra buttons or bind them to keyboard keys. However, this isn't actually possible with the software that the device comes with; the "paddles" are only bindable to other physical buttons on the controller in order to make duplicates. ...Eugh. So I tried to find a way around this and eventually found a thread on Reddit, but the software no longer works after the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. Furthermore, it only ever apparently worked on 10 in the first place, so anyone on an older OS is out of luck anyway. To make a long story short, this is essentially a heavier, but otherwise totally normal, XBox controller. It costs $150. Don't buy this unless Microsoft makes the paddles actual dedicated buttons.

    Awesome Upgrade!

This controller is very well done! I love the customization's you can make. The paddles work great for fast paced action! Swapping out thumb sticks is an amazing feature and is a breeze to swap! Bumper buttons are easier to push and they don't seem to have any dead zone in them. Love the feel of it, and the grip is sweet! Thumb sticks are smoother when you move them completely around. To help compensate for the extra weight of the controller I would recommend putting in some Energizer Lithium AA batteries, they are lighter than the Alkaline batteries that come with the controller.

So I was iffy at dropping $150 on a controller for my xbox but I figured why not. the worst that happens is I either return it or I love it. Grip feels great, a bit rubbery and after hours of use gets a bit sweaty in my palms but feels great. some of the pieces are removable via internal magnets which at first I felt was pretty gimmacy, but actually holds well. I cannot wait to see what third party options come out for these pieces. Friends have mentioned that they really enjoy the new lower paddle shifters for racing games. I like the hair triggers and the raised sticks for FPS, feels much better. the controller has solid weight to it but I am sad that my rechargable battery system doesnt work with this without modification. the cover doesnt slip back on and that makes me sad. that is the only reason why I gave it a 4. so if you want a controller and want to see if it helps you step up your game go for it, but only if you want one nice controller instead of 2 standard controllers, since that is the cost of this beast.

If you buy this controller, make sure you get the extended warranty since the quality control is very hit or miss on this one. It was a great controller at first but did not hold up well over time. Right stick started to make crunching noises after a month and the convex thumbsticks started to cave in after a couple weeks of use. Not the type of thing I'd expect from such an expensive controller. Ended up returning and buying a normal controller.
