Maybe it's just that I don't play FPS' for hours a day, but I didn't really notice any difference between this and a standard Xbox one controller.

Broke in less than a month

I really do love the controller, but to have it break in less than 3 weeks with minimal use is upsetting. The problem is the paddle triggers. I bought this controller specifically for these triggers. The one I used the most stopped clicking in. It would still somewhat work, but you had to press really hard for it to register which resulted in missed clicks. For 150 dollars I expected a better built product. Buy the extended warranty on this for sure.

Controller feels great, doesn't slip from your hands, and has a good design. Works like a regular controller but the extra triggers take some getting used to. USB broke after 2 weeks and wouldn't charge the controller anymore. Left stick drifts after a year of having it. RB came out completely. All 3 of these problems has occurred with all 3 of my Elite controllers. These are not worth your hard earned money.

    Best Controller Ever

This is by far the best controller I've ever owned. The controller is extremely comfortable to hold for hours on ends. The controller has a weight to it that any professional gaming controller should. It appears to contain a lot less plastic and more metal. All the buttons and joysticks are smoother and more fluid, and the grips for your hands are actually ergonomic grips. I've already created one preset for Halo 5 and one for Black Ops III. Very awesome customization options through the Xbox Accessories app. If you can, get your hands on one.

Grips are going to fall off inevitably. They also bumped up the price of the warranty because they know it breaks...

It is excellent in terms of upgrade of what you can do over regular controllers. I am on my 4 th one in 14 months. I play a lot. They are too easy to break. The bumpers break. You could repair them but I don't have the patience for that. I recommend them highly if you have the money to use them as disposables or the tech skills and patience to repair them. Once you start you can't play with a standard controller anymore

As stated in the summary above. I was very happy with the controller the feel and function was great. BUT now after 6 months of normal use and storing the controller in the case when not in use. The right side grip is peeling off and the left side is showing signs of joining it. I've learned by searching the net this is common issue and Microsoft's answer is buy a new controller that will probably do the same!

Bought for my teenager for Christmas and was broken by June. He likes it enough that he wants to purchase another one with his own money but I’m very frustrated that it didn’t last very long. I’m kicking myself for not adding the warranty and thought that I had! But at the same time disappointed that the quality of products is so terrible these days! Nothing lasts.

Was great while it worked. Broke after 4 months. Glad I got replacement warranty on it. Heard horror stories of problems and they are all warranted. Overall, it's too heavy, and the paddles are too long, too easily accidentally activated when placing down on anything but a perfectly flat table.

Didn't come in original box(not big deal) Had bad raddled inside controller as if board was loose, thumb sticks and grips on rear of controller were worn badly as if it had been used for a year by the incredible Hulk. Had sticky stuff on front of controller and was missing battery back door. This was listed as EXCELLENT condition open box item? I waited almost two weeks to receive this garbage. After terrible unboxing and customer care not caring at all about my situation I ended up buying new from local Game Stop. This only upset me even more because I tried canceling this two weeks ahead of time since it took forever to ship and the nice gentlemen on the phone couldn't do to system issues. Love Best Buy and I get things like this happen but after putting a loyal customer through such a bad experience I would of thought you would of tried making it right instead of just saying sorry for your luck.

    Perfect When New

I really liked everything about this controller when I first got it as part of the XBox One Elite Console package. It looks great, it’s easier to handle when your hands get slippery, it is heavier than a standard controller but the extra weight is a positive in my opinion as it just feels better to hold. It comes with a good amount of accessories like the extra sticks and the braided usb cable among others, all of which have been of good use. It also has total button mapping and adjustments with the software app. I originally had absolutely nothing negative to say about this controller and think the $150 price tag is actually a fair price, had no issues ever occurred. Unfortunately, the issue with the controller can at times render it unusable depending on what your doing on the XBox. After about 6 months use, the left stick started acting up, causing it to scroll outwards from a centered position without being touched and the issue got slowly worse with time. Eventually I was unable to use it for things like FPS games, while scrolling with the sticks in certain games or while using the Edge browser. I will always prefer the controller if it’s manageable for the game, but I am disappointed that such an issue occurred after a relatively short amount of time(6 months of moderate game play) and after searching around have found this issue to be quite common for the controller. As far as I can tell, Microsoft never addressed this potential issue. If it has been addressed since I last tried to find an answer about a fix, and I hope it has since I love the controller otherwise, than I apologize for the misinformation and would absolutely recommend the controller at that time, but if the issue remains than I wouldn’t recommend it for $150 knowing that a $60 controller will work just fine without a potential issue.

I've had to exchange this controller twice due to the thumb sticks breaking. If you buy one be sure to get Geek Squad.
