I opened up the box, held it, put it back in the box, and returned it. The back paddles are really cool, but I can't grip the handles of the controller without hitting them.

I will start with my cons: 1. Regular batteries required, i mean for the price, i kind of wish rechargeable batteries came with! But at least it did come with a gorgeous braided long cable so you can just use it wired. 2. The case is kind of in-between, its awesome to keep all pieces together and such. But i feel it is kind of small, 1, the mesh pocket i assume is for the cable, but i cant really fit it in there very well. and 2. the reason it wont really fit is because the sticks on the controller push into the mesh, even the regular small ones, so i feel like it need a little more space in there. Now: overall love it! Nice heavier controller, feels great in the hands, triggers are better than before, trigger lock is awesome (on the games that it truly works on, Halo has weapons that wont work with the trigger lock), paddles are awesome, small learning curve, but once you know it, so quick to use! The sticks pop on and off so easily, its actually kinda just fun to play with them.

Let me start by saying I was on the fence about even buying this controller, but I'm so glad I did! Everything is so much smoother, and it just feels more solid, I would've bought it just for how nice the sticks are. On top of the super quality build there's the insane customization, you can remap anything to anywhere plus four new inputs! I have zero regrets about buying the elite, and if you're on the fence I can say that there is no reason to be, it's worth all $150.

So when I got this controller I was super excited. It worked great for my 1st person shooters. About a year after purchase, the silicone grips began peeling and eventually fell off. Three months after that, the LB button broke and no longer works(it appears a piece of plastic under it snapped off). If this controller lasted the life of the console, I could see if being worth the $150 price, but to have to replace it 2 or 3 times at $150 a pop. I definitely would look elsewhere like Scuf, etc.

I purchased this in March and this controller started having problems in July with very light use. it was always kept in the case and never dropped. The right thumbstick is loose and moves up and down with a tilt of the controller. Apparently they only give the controller a 3 month warranty.so the only option is buy another. I will not do that. It's an amazing controller that only lasted 4 months before it started having issues. I have original Xbox controllers that are still working 100% fine. How is this possible? Do not buy.

These controllers feel amazing to use but have a MAJOR durability issue , so I cant rate them highly. Make sure you get the Best Buy warranty to cover them. Im on my fourth one I believe. The second of the version 2 elites. They all have issues that come up with regular use. Usually lasting me 3-6 months. This version 2 has lasted alot longer but I still have low expectations.

The best controller I have ever owned.

I may not be seen as the typical person who would buy this controller since I haven't been a heavy gamer for some time now but even though I have only been gaming a few hours a week lately this purchase has been the best I have made in a long time. It's not all the great extra features that are extremely useful that make this purchase worth it for me. It's the build quality. I have owned Scuf controllers in the past when I was heavy in to gaming and despite those costing much more then this the quality here is far superior. I am also very impressed with the placement of the paddles. They seem easier to reach then those on a scuf pad but it is a process trying to get used to using fingers you normally never used gaming before. It does weigh about twice what a standard xbox controller weighs but it doesn't seem to be a factor and is hands down the most comfortable controller I have used. I am extremly impressed with how well the magnets work for swapping thumb sticks, dpad, and paddles. I honestly thought that would have been an issue and would have to worry about paddles coming off or wobble on the thumb sticks but that is not the case. Everything sits tight and secure. Another feature that impressed me was the trigger adjust ability. It is a feature offered on other modded controllers but the way it is implemented here is as good as it can get ease wise. One quick flip of a switch and effectively increase your fire rate in fps games. I honestly would like to see the travel decreased more when the feature is enabled but cutting the travel distance of the triggers in half is plenty good and worth using. The included Halo game was a nice bonus even though I already owned the game but considering that was included and the price was still at the normal price of just the controller it was a huge win. It is thanks to that halo game that I didn't remove a star for the customer service I received. I like shopping at Bestbuy and this is my first online purchase from them and was stated to include 2 day delivery which was important for my decision to order here but unfortunately it wasn't shipped 2 day despite what the customer service reps told. I ended up having to become a my choice member with UPS and pay a fee in order for it to get delivered on time before xmas. Luckily I was on top of it and fixed the problem before my item was handed off to USPS from UPS which never ends well. Despite that issue I still must give credit to Best Buy for keeping the standard price and including the game for free when others who had this combo was changing their price throughout the days before xmas from $190 - $200.

This controller at time of review is $150. A lot of cash but I play a lot of games. I gave this controller 5 Stars based on its function not on its price. As a controller alone it's fantastic. There simply isn't a first party contoller that comes close. This contoller is ideal for fist person shooters and racing games. The paddles allow you to shut gears with greater immersion and precision. They also are removable incase you find them a little obnoxious. The controller feels heavier but sturdier and the sticks feel like they'll last a long time. This contoller is married to an app on Xbox that finally allows you to customize your controllers specific button inputs. PC's have had this for years and it's nice to finally see this on a console. Ps4 needs this feature. Love the contoller and though $150 for a contoller is pricey it is far below its competion of a scuf. If you get this you probably will never go back which is a scary thought.

I was really looking forward to this controller for the paddles in FPS games. Opening it up and feeling the quality I was very impressed. The app you customize the controls with is simple to use, but very in depth. It's a great controller that I'm very happy to own!

Nothing has changed at Microsoft with these elite controllers. I've been through 3 of the elite series 2 controllers due to the bumpers having issues. They stop registering after some use. My most recent controller lasted 6 months without an issue but the prior ones developed in weeks. Outstanding product but horrible build quality and reliability.
