Best gaming console controller!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far the best gaming controller I've ever used, it feels solid, the product is heavy so it feels super nice in your hands. The paddles are a nice addition, I wish they would have made the paddles out of rubber instead of metal so they would feel nicer, when I have long gaming sessions the paddles for me start to become a bit annoying. Other than that I got an awesome deal for this controller.

Nice on the outside, junk on the inside
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a highly touted (or maybe just marketed) controller, but as I found out quickly it really isn't worth the money or trouble. After purchase I quickly noticed that the analog sticks have terrible drift and that is due to it using the same unreliable/cheap components as the base controller. Save your money and buy that instead.

Good, but not $150 good.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I paid for two of these. I purchased the first one to replace my wired XB360 PC controller for FPshooters. Yes, I'm a PC controller noob; I can't break bad habits. My other controller came with my elite XB1. The USB cable connection could be a weak point. It is one knock on a desk or table away from breaking off. I wish there was a counterbore on the controller to accept the micro USB housing to resist sheer loading. There is plenty of USB cable which is a plus. The trigger pulls are adjustable, but the short pull is not a hair trigger. I like the long trigger pull for throttle control in racing games. However, for FPS, the short trigger pull is still too long. I use the bumpers for ADS and fire, just like I did on the xb360 controller. If you're going to advertise hair triggers, it should be as fast or faster than the bumpers. Again, this controller does not have hair triggers. I wish there was a physical off switch. If you unplug it from a PC it continues to search for a wireless for a short period of time. If you play XB1 games that do not require a controller (Rocksmith), it stays on unless you turn it off via menus. Let me save energy! The controller has two modes, however, I have not figured out a way to have mode 1 as PC and mode 2 as XB1. If you use the controller for PC via USB it forgets it's life as an XB1 controller under the second mode and forces you to re-sync. The modular thumb sticks and D pad are well made and well executed if you plan on changing them. I did but switched back. The control sticks glide much better than my crumb laden XB360 controller. The modular magnetic paddles are great, but don't set your controller down on your leg unless you want to press (several) random buttons. I use 2 of 4. They are very handy for FPS. Something about this controller makes my hands sweat significantly more than the XB360 controller. I've never had this problem before. Maybe it is the 150 shekels worth of magnets and electronics between my palms. Gross. M$ is certainly charging a premium for one of the first customize-able controllers for the XB1. This is $75, maybe $100 territory. Wait for a sale unless you have cash to burn.

Build Quality issues
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Reliability is horrible. I have had 3 of these fail on me. I just got tired and let the 4th one collect dust. It drifts beyond an acceptable level and the trigger buttons barely respond. Dont waste your money. Search on reddit to confirm.

Defective.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cheaply made garbage. Over all I liked it for my style but even as a weekend only gamer they would just break mainly the bumpers in under a year. Once in only a few months. Quality is not a priority for Microsoft. I'm an xbox guy and I gotta say Sony makes better longer lasting products.

Lasted 5 months
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price you would think this thing would last more than 5 months. One of the trigger buttons broke and I contacted the company and they only offer a 90 day warranty?? Good think I purchased best buys 2 year replacement, only they are never in stock. so maybe they are discounted?

Overpriced junk..
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this and loved it for about two months.. But now it has a broke trigger and the sticks feedback is off so it doesn't search right.. I did get a free game with it so I guess that was cool.. The $60 controllers have been fine for years and the elite hasn't lasted 90 days.. Save your money or buy the warranty.

It is definetly better than standard
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I was at E3 2015 I had a hands on with this controller and it was something else! High quality at its best is all i can say. It is definitely for the elite gamer. I would like to comment on the fact that, at first, most people will not be comfortable with the paddles at the bottom like with the scuffs, but this is a lot easier to get used to. I know that it is a more newbie friendly than this scuffs for sure!

Totally worth it.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I waited 2.5 months for mine. Just got it today, and OMG it is amazing! I never held an elite controller until today, and it feels great a bit heavier 2lbs heavier than a standard xbox one controller, but the grips on the side make it more comfortable to hold for a longer period of time, the peices are magnetic, are easy rto insall and remove, plus it comes with its own carrying case.It is totally worth the 155 (w/tax). Bestbuy may not get anymore in for awhile. 2.5 months lol.

Broken in 6 months
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cool Idea to customize your controller but after 6 months it's broken. Dpad won't recognize up or down. Contacted Microsoft/Xbox and they only warranty for 90 days. Save your money and buy a scuf.

Make sure you buy a warranty!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These things are made no better than a regular controller. I am an avid gamer and very easy on my controllers, yet I have been through 3 Elite controllers. I use the RB a lot playing BF4 and this thing wears out like every 3 months. Make sure you buy a warranty or you will be throwing your money away.

Wow!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, the Elite controller does have a nice heft to it - which, after years of the Sixaxis (non-Dualshock 3) PS3 controllers (I used to own a PS3), does seem like a dream. The Elite controller has some nice heft even over the standard Xbox One controllers. To anyone who thinks that the existing Xbox One controllers are too heavy, you'll be disappointed. These controllers do have some rubbery grips near the bottom of the controller. While this would seem like a downside for anyone with sweaty palms (which it probably is), I thought it was a welcome addition due to the fact that I constantly had to readujst the older-style controllers. The only downsides that I can think of would be that a) its $150 dollars, and b) not every game supports it. I would be more willing to buy the controller if it were between $75-$100 dollars. Not all games seem to support it, such as Halo MCC. You'd think that Microsoft, in order to push the controller, would put it on all of their games to demonstrate proof of concept. To my knowledge, the extra features are only available on Halo 5, the Forza games, and a minor collection of others. And while I do recommend the controller itself, if you are looking for some sort of magical end-all-be-all solution to controllers, look away. This isn't it.

Don't buy
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Terrible and over priced controller. The triggers always seem to break. I had to replace them twice. Bought another one, thinking the first was a lemon. Nope, just cheaply made. Don't waste your money on this brand.

Junk
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Complete junk in 6 months the left bumper stopped working. Left grip fell off and Microsoft only gives 90 day warranty on product. Complete waste of a $150. Buyers beware and purchase extended warranty. You will need it. I am done with Microsoft products and there pore customer service.

Literally The Nicest Xbox Controller Ever Produced
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I was very hesitant to buy the Xbox Elite controller for my Xbox One X. There are many reviews on multiple platforms that complain about the build quality or the grip pads wearing down too fast or the buttons malfunctioning shortly after Microsofts laughable 90 day limited warranty ends. Let me put your concerns to rest. This is a very well built peripheral, as it should be for $150 USD. The directional pad is one of the best I've ever used. It's interchangeable and comes with a standard directional pad that's magnetized. The additional joy sticks are magnetized and AWESOME as well. Super comfortable and very smooth. The pads on the rear of the controller are removable. They're quite possibly one of the most functional, intuitive and natural feeling designs I've ever experienced. Yes they take some getting used to. No they're probably not going to be ideal for every game. But remember, with the Xbox Accessories app, ever single button on the Elite is mapable. You can adjust the sensitivity of the triggers/joy sticks as well. The LT and RT also have hair trigger locks that will greatly behoove any FPS. Now having said all that, I did pick up the Geek Squads 2 year product replacement plan for only $20 more. Even though the Elite seems to be built very well, for $20, now I'm covered for 2 years JUST IN CASE something does go wrong. I am the type of person that goes to great lengths to care for my things - however s*** happens, so I'd prefer some peace of mind for only $20 more.
