Will fall apart
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This controller is awesome and works great as far as it's use in games. But.......it will fall apart. Cheapest $150 controller ever built. Your hand grips will come off. 100% guaranteed, so buy a warranty from Best Buy. But the warranty won't do much good, because Best Buy doesn't keep the controller in stock to be able to honor their warranty. You can give it to them and they will order you one which takes 1-2 weeks to receive. So if you're a serious gamer be prepared to fall off the leaderboards. So buy a warranty, and have a back up controller for when you have to wait your 1-2 weeks to get it replaced, because you will have to get it replaced.

Great Controller Except
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The controller worked great for 2 months. The LB and RB are metal on the outside, but are held in place inside by 3 cheap plastic tabs, which broke. Just beware if you use it on a regular basis

Bumper Falling Off
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had this less than 2 months and already the left bumper is loose and falling out. Super disappointing. Not sure if I can exchange it through Best Buy where I bought it.

Not so Elite after all
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've now been through 3 of these controllers in total, including a couple replaced under warranty. For how much these cost, they should be holding up for 4-5 years at least, but they all do the same thing. Thumbstick drift. Very disappointing. I'm better off just buying the cheaper controllers, because they hold up about as long.

Long term review...it's got issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Initially, I had a 5 star review up on this, as I was so impressed with immediately after buying it. Well that impression quickly fled as the flaws on this controller rose and have been harassing me since. The flaws are primarily design based, and could have easily been corrected if Microsoft had conducted a thorough beta test and included human systems integration. Main issue is that the controller needs a physical "off on" switch, so you can set the controller down with out backing out of games or interrupting videos. Do not set this down on a couch, as you will definitely hit the paddles. Do not pay it in the case either, this will also activate the paddles. Handing over controller to someone else? Paddles activated. Picking up controller from table? Paddles activated. I use paddles for FPS, which means one of the paddles is a "b" button. The amount of times I accidently backout of games is beyond frustrating! To mitigate this issue, you have to program one of the two slots to be an "off" or unprogrammed paddles. This is the only solution. But this solution takes 50% of your programmed slots away, so that sucks. I've also had the controller lose connection randomly display "please reconnect controller" for no reason, even with fresh batteries. Always happens at inconvenient times, like kill streaks builds. Great concept, I commend MS for making the step to help more serious gamers, but they have a lot of work ahead of them. Hopefully the next generation will include actual gamer beta time.

After 3 months you're out $150
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this controller for my boyfriend in February and now the charging port is loose. I called Microsoft to get it repaired (not looking for anything for free, I figured I would have to pay a repair fee + shipping) and the agent and the supervisor told me that after 3 months the only option is to buy a new controller. I have repaired items with Sony, Nintendo, and Apple and they will at least stand by their product and repair it. Really disappointed in Microsoft and this controller is definitely not worth $150 to only work for less than 9 months.

Just not worth it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Thing runs on batteries. Who does that? Even if you buy a rechargeable battery it won't charge via USB. Paddles are freaking weird, and only duplicate existing buttons unless you bodge some low-level code to intercept and translate. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Terrible QC on A button
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have sent this controller in for a repair and replacement for an intermittently working A button twice. This problem was not resolved either time. I remap the A button to the back paddles anyway. If it were not for this, it would be a 1 star review.

Warning! 90 days warranty only!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Despite the steep price xbox lovers pay for this mediocre device, it has 90 days warranty ONLY, and that is in United States. Mine broke after 3 months of light use. Save your money, buy from a company which at least stands behind its products. Microsoft, obviousely, doesn’t.

Controller stop turning on
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This controller was great when the first few times, then I was busy and was not able to play games for about 8 months, when trying to turn on the controller, it's completely dead. Changed battery and everything, followed every instructions, it's past the 90 day warranty. It's very comfortable, but I question the quality of controller.

Buttons too loose
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used this Xbox elite controller since December and I've been very disappointed with it so far. The buttons are way too loose and the thumbsticks always fall of when I'm playing NHL 16 so Im warning you guys to not waste 150 dollars on this controller when there are better ones on the market like scuf.

Changed Review of 5 stars
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have to unfortunately change my review. I originally gave 5 stars for how great of the design and performance of the controller. But now after a few days the controller has already stopped working. There is no sound and mic doesn't work. This is my second controller that it has happened with and have gone through all the troubleshooting steps online. Seems to have happened after a controller update. I should of done more research online before purchasing because this has been a problem for these controllers for a couple years now. For $150 youd expect it to work.

disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Thumb stick drift after about a year with no physical damage. Apparently it's a common problem and due to a cheap part that also causes problems on the regular Xbox 1 controllers.

Expensive Indulgence... buy insurance!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased Xmas 2015. Thumb sticks are now drifting 17 months later after light use (less than 10 hours a week). Adult gamer who takes very good care of controller. Controller feels great, unsure if it adds anything to your game play.

Cheaply made, broke quickly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Within just a couple months, my controller started having "drift" on the left joystick, where the joystick wants to move forward without you even touching it. This makes the controller useless for most games. When you do a search for "Xbox Elite" you'll notice all the top results are for people having this drift problem. Unfortunately Microsoft doesn't stand behind this product, charging full shipping and handling if you want to send back for warranty. Given this controller costs four times as much as a regular controller, you'd expect Microsoft would put sturdier components in.

Very iffy reliability
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When these work they are stellar and worth every penny. I've bought them for myself and 2 family members and a friend. In the 3 years I've owned mine I've had it replaced 6 times, although 2 were my own fault. My nephew has had his replaced once and my friends once due to hardware failure. These are not a reliable device. I just got a new one 3 weeks ago to replace one that stopped powering on, and the brand new one 3 weeks later is powering off by itself. I would not recommend it. Extremely dissapointed in the reliability. Thank God Best Buy has geek squad warranties.

Truly not worth it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought two of these remotes when I came back from the middle east after having deployed. I got one for myself and one for my wife. I am active duty military and do now spend a lot of time at home so I was blown away when this 150 dollar remote broke after only a few months. Ive looked though numerous reviews and have found identical problems. After calling Microsoft everyone seems to get the same response that you SOL. All you can do buy another. Please do now buy this or any other microsoft product.
