The elite controller is definitely more expensive than other controllers. Is it necessary? No. But once you use it, you'll never want to hold a regular controller again. The D-Pad is where this unit shines for me. The precision is fantastic.

Love the feel of this controller! It feels like it’s almost part of your hands. Unfortunately, while the external aspects of the controller are all upgraded, the internal mechanisms are the same as the base Microsoft controller. I have replaced this controller 3 times when certain buttons started sticking. I hope Microsoft addresses these issues.

so I've been a console gamer for a long time and have essentially used all of the Xbox controllers and I can say without a doubt the elite controller is the best over ever used. The weight and responsiveness of the controller just seems to be in a league of its own!!! I can't say enough about it. GO BUY ONE!!!

It feels way more sturdy than regular controller. You can switch the thumbsticks out, it has paddle buttons on the back, it comes with a case, you can set short pulls on the triggers, and the grips are rubbery so they aren't slipping when your hands get sweaty. Awesome controller!

Highly recommended, worth every penny. After about a week of playing with it, I have seen an improvement in my FPS skills.

It takes a while to get used to the back paddles. 2 or 3 weeks if you use all 4, but it's totally worth it. It feels great, made from high end materials and it's really quick to switch out components or to map a button to a different function. I use it for Halo 5 primarily and love it. Pricey, but I don't regret it at all.

Love the controller! its easy to setup the button mapping and the triggers on the back help so much! it takes a little bit to get used to having buttons on the back but it will help a lot! if your stuck on getting this controller or a $250 SCUF controller, GO WITH THIS CONTROLLER FOR SURE!!!! ITS A NO BRAINER!

Great controller. Very easy customizations (sometimes too much). The status alone almost makes you just play better. Like Friday Night Lights "you aint playing good cuse you got those white addidas on...you need dem black Nikes." Would have gotten a 5 if it would last 2 years before needed to replace it.

When the Xbox elite controller was first introduced I found myself laughing at the audacity of Microsoft wanted $125 for a controller (twice the price of a standard variation). However, when I actually put it on my hands and tried it out, I understood. The quality of it. The solid feel in the hands is different than anything, any other console has ever done. I wish Sony would create their own variation. It'd be a hit with the PS4 crowd. Yes, I've heard that it has had it's issues with triggers "breaking" and other issues, but as with most highly rated products, it's those 1 star reviews people read and listen to even though they are in the complete minority. I bought it at Best Buy due to their warranty, which I've always had great experiences with. If you own an Xbox and play for more than a hour at times, you will not regret this purchase. I don't even use the "rapid" buttons, due to me not being a mp gamer. I love my solo campaigns and this thing enhances the experience. Every time.

Husband has used this for quite a while now and is still satisfied with this controller. Good battery life.

At first this controller fells a little heavy and it takes a few games getting used to. But once you map it to your liking with the Xbox One app in the Xbox you’ll be destroying enemies left and right. I highly recommend this controller if you are into competitive gaming with your friends. Great product.

Amazing feel, great customization, great purchase.

You almost have to reteach yourself to use the paddles but once you get the hang out it, it's hard to go back. One thing I would mention is if you've had a controller disconnect due to furniture obstructing the line of communication on a controller before, the Elite controller rarely experiences that.

Feels great, runs great. There is an awesome customization menu with it. Anyway you want it that's the way you get it.
