Honestly, this is a must have if you own an Xbox. The price of games keep rising but Game Pass keeps pulling in new games. My son and I have enjoyed some of the day one releases as well as the extensive sports catalog. He loves baseball and The Show was an annual release for a few years. EA Sports games seem to be a year/season behind but I'm not in a hurry to spend $70 a year for minor changes/updates and new player names. We have definitely gotten our money's worth with this.

There are games for everyone and many of Microsoft's first party titles launch day one on the service. It's the best way to try a game out and decide if it's something you want to own or just play and never look back. If you decide to own there is a discount as well. Nothing quite like the choices and game selection found here. If you are a casual gamer it's also great because there's no commitment where you need to invest and you can go to a lower tier or stop when you don't want to play anymore and you can always come back in the future.

Of the paid gaming subscriptions, GamePass Ultimate is head and shoulders above the competition. Not only does it provide launch day access to all of Microsoft's 1st party games, which are at long last becoming a benefit worth paying for not even counting their recent acquisition of Blizzard, there's a deep catalog of older 1st and 3rd party games, the occasional 3rd party launch release, 10 hour trials of new EA releases and access to most of their games within 6-12 months of release, and PC Game pass included. There's also a pretty robust rewards program that awards points for playing GamePass games that can be redeemed for gift cards. The only real downside is that the monthly cost has increased multiple times since launch, though that can be ameliorated by resourceful shopping online.
