Difficult to Buy

Could not use my BB rewards points in store to buy an actual card since it is considered a "gift card" but I was able buy it online and get the access code emailed to me. Why does Best Buy make things difficult?

Microsoft stopped selling the 12 month gold membership (probably to get more money because it was literally cutting the price down to half) so third party retailers are the only way to go to continue getting it half off.
