Easy way out of this mess was to drive to BestBuy near our home. Went in/out and was able to buy it using my BB Points/Credit for a lower price offered by MS.

Xbox Live Service is Great

Still the best online server offered from any console. Lots of features and free games/content. Well worth the $60 a year.
