The ability to chat and play with your online friends is one thing, but the amount of deals and free games you get throughout the year surpasses the value you paid for this.

Upgrade it to gamepass!

Bought three years worth, then upgraded it on the xbox to gamepass for $1, giving me 3 years of gamepass ultimate for a steep discount.

After we installed this on her xbox we did a 3 month game pass and it converted the one year gold to all game pass so she got game pass for 15 months for the the cost of gold

The Xbox One X is a power house that costs less than my last graphics card! Plus I recently acquired a 65" 4K HDR TV. We, on the console side if you want to game online you have to pay, which stinks but it is what it is. On sale for $15 ($5/month) and it's not all that bad.
